Luciano Leilua

To get a player from the cowboys. They have to want to come!
This isn't the NBA where you own the player's contract and can freely trade them like a commodity. We tried at Nausiam last year to sign some cowboys and no one was interested.
On NRL360 Riccio said we'd asked for Robson but was knocked back.
Pretty sure Payten offered him at the start of the year.

Two forwards who can dent the line and we've been rolled the past couple of weeks.
And we’ve managed to weaken it further. Recruitment should be a higher priority than release given our current position.

Even if we are paying players forward,we need to be a team on field showing at least some improvement.

Not sure if already mentioned, but I really hope it has been in the negotiations that he can't play against us in round 19.

Imagine how even more pathetic it'd look for us if he rips us apart when playing against us.

Just shows what the real problem is, we have guys putting the jersey on who would bleed for the joint and some who are here only for a pay cheque. As a man how can u just turn Ur back on Ur mates, even if we got the spoon it's about seeing things to the end. I'm glad he's gone just be really gutted if I was in the squad that someone I was supposed to rely on in the trenches has just turned tail and walked away. I understand the benefits to the cap for next year and freeing up a spot for a younger player but just can't reconcile all the positives with the fact there are guys in the squad who will just turn their backs on their mates and walk away.

How does this benefit us?

Luc isn't perfect, but he's a good player. Not sure why the cowboys want him so bad and paid such big dollars, but why do we release him now? Even if blooding young players, put him in lower grades as cover in case our players prove unplayable.

Pascoe sucks, hope Sheens knows what he's doing.

Or if is the coach who want's to come. It would be a great result if Luciano gets a shot at the title this year, Todd also gets a shot at the title, and Todd breaks his contract to come here next year. OK, I'm dreaming, but a nice thought all the same.
Didn't Payten white ant Sheens back in the day? or was that one of our other coaches?

There's a story there...

I don't think it was Sheens, may have even been Madge.

Wanted to move from 20s to the top job but it didn't work out.

Straight up , if he left because of Madge he need only look in the mirror for someone to blame . He had been no shorter than horrific for weeks. And if he wasn’t tanking , when it sure looked like he was , then he has been horrific enough , that even if he stayed , I’d be looking to drop him.
And if he was tanking , and is angry at us for getting rid of Madge , then that’s some serious mental gymnastics going on to have no culpability.
Bottom line is , he’s gone now , and his edge has been that bad defensively and in attack btw , that it’s not obvious if we are going to miss him IMO

The modern game not many built like Farah was anymore loyal to the club its all about $$ and the easy road these days. Hopefully these next gen Juniors have the passion we all wish the current lot play with.
Seeing :

Topine at the Dogs - "I'm ready to die for the Bulldogs"

And

Kiraz - pulling up Corey Allan in a fiery confrontation in the sheds after a loss , for not taking it as serious as he could....

These are the types of things I wish we'd see from our lads.
Honestly the dogs should give those guys the keys , that's the type of player you want at your club.

Bit different he's off next year and our season is gone but don't let facts get in the way of a good rant.
This club drives us all to rant.
The Cowboys wanted a player that was under contract to us. We had plenty of leverage, and yet we've just given him up for nothing. The club can't even negotiate a beneficial deal when the cards are stacked in our favour.
Still, I look forward to the cap space being used to frontload Tommy Talau or some other misfit that has no other suitors anyway.

Agree...we just can't seem to negotiate smart when it comes releasing players early...when did we last get a player we signed early?...apart from Daine Laurie
Yep,at least someone to replace a position where we need It. I want a player in return for giving them a player.

Recruitment seems harder than ever atm for us.. esp with the dolphins coming in the competition
