I agree with this 100%. Been saying it for a while we need players that want to play for the badge. The badge means something to them... Luc is another Madge off cut. No surprise he left. I hope we can move a few more on...if you don't want to play for the badge pls make your way to the exit door...

It's a good question isn't it.
Why did the cows push so hard for Luc....?

Payten watches us. Clearly he remembers us and probably Canberra and follows our team.
Payten also values a good forward. He clearly sees Luc and goes "yes that guy is worth something". .... makes sense right.

Except why 800K overs? In North Queensland where you have props growing off trees. why? payten values forwards, that simple.

I suspect Payten hasn't managed the cap well. Dearden was on a bit of coin and repayed it in spades. Townsend was 1 million dollars, which was huge. Heck he is earning it. Jt's million for life ontop of that too ofcourse.
Good picks, but a badly managed cap if Luc is coming on 800k ...

Now the Cowboys know how to dodgy the cap. A builder turns up and just wants to give a house away to his good mate and what do you know Coen Hess resigns. Cows will be fine.

What I really want to know is if Payten brought Luc on current performance? OR if Payten went "that guy has a next level and here is how we get it".
 
The closest ground to me is Campbelltown. It is a two and a half hour round trip and it costs me and the missus around $200 when you take in tickets, petrol, food and drink. Why should I bother going to any more games if the club has given up this year. $200 is a big chunk out of our weekly budget. They have lost interest so why should I bother. I will still watch on TV because Kayo is very cheap but this doesn’t benefit the club. I am a rusted on supporter and if I can’t be motivated to go to games I’m sure many others are in the same boat.

PS. Leichhardt is a four hour round trip and takes in the whole day over the years I have dragged little kids to lots of games ( they curse me now and ask why couldn’t we have followed a successful team but they remain loyal) but if the club has lost interest then…………

I’m in the same boat. Work too hard to waste the weekend for this rabble.
 
I agree with the poster who said to sit them down and ask them if they want to leave and those that put their hands up can take a hike immediately and while it may take time find players who are prepared to have pride in their performance and not those Prima donnas on 300, 400, 500 or more who can’t run, pass or tackle and don’t understand that a game is 80 minutes

Gus wasn’t right on this one as it has nothing to do with Madge. He was just stiring the pot taking heat off the Bulldogs & Spoon focus.

Lucy was talking to the club about a release weeks ago which also tied into his performances getting worse last few rounds. Cowboys injury / SOO hit made them desperate to get him this season.

He was already signed for next year on a 700k year deal with the Cowboys, Madge said he wasn’t going to match the deal because he won’t pay overs.
