Luciano Leilua granted early release​

Wests Tigers have granted Luciano Leilua an early release from his playing contract, effective immediately.

Leilua signed a three-year deal in November last year to join North Queensland Cowboys for 2023 and beyond.

He will now join the Cowboys for the remainder of this season.

Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe says Leilua has made a valuable contribution to the club.

“We wish Luciano the very best with his future.

He and his family have made a lot of friends here at the Wests Tigers and they will be missed.”

No point having cap space unless you can use it
* either we bring a contract payment forward from next year
* resign a player like Hastings/Laurie/AD and up this years salary to offset future years
* we sign another player not wanted

Also don't we have 2 spots already open, having a 3rd makes it tough to fill in a few weeks unless we create a lucky dip for some kids to get a NRL crack this year
