We need heaps of depth. I wouldn't let Twal or Seyfarth go. The problem is that we don't have any impact type props.

I'm less worried about our backline and even the spine.

We need forwards desperately.
I agree with most of your comments but Seyfarth is a plodder in the extreme

I have heard there are formal rules around announcements when players transfer between clubs. See what happens.
Yep. My concern NRL will rule along the lines of Tigers will have Lucy’s money come off our cap for this year whilst he plays for them. Make us an example again 🙄

I wonder if you could sue them ?
Would be an absolute certainty you’d think, especially if someone on the inside confirms and reveals that there was indeed a negative agenda against our club at all costs. This is the age of social media and internet, research and development, so would need some conclusive proof that it was a concerted, regular effort in terms of lying about Wests Tigers and continually running these types of slanderous segments.

It couldn’t be just your average run-of-the-mill rumour type stuff - but I do think they’ve shown their hand…

NQ just don’t want him on their books for the Samoa game. They’ll pick him up after that. If he gets injured. I’d say we probably end up stuck.

We may lose this one but 2005 we didn’t!

Judge would laugh us out of court.

So WT, you’re claiming you’re not a basket case?! 😂😂😂😂

Yeah he wasn’t as bad as others. But he wanted a bit too much for his level. Great player, awesome bloke, but not always consistent. He wanted 700 which is double factory.
You're worth whatever someone is willing to pay you.

Why is the media going off about all this as if Wests Tigers have totally stuffed this up?

Could be because we usually have, but in this case I truly hope we haven't and it is finally acknowledged that we are the ones in the right.

The thing that makes me nervous is the lack of commentary from the club, you would think if we were 100% correct and above board in all this that we would be hearing more than just crickets.
I doubt a club would ask for a player transfer without firstly getting a determination from the NRL on its impact to the cap. The determination is changing each week. The opportunity windows given by the Cowboys were obviously not taken up because they didn’t suit WT for whatever reason.

Exactly what I’m saying too! Gotta weigh up the risks, at this current juncture we’re too weak to even really consider ‘fronting’ the media 🤣

It’s make or break type stuff.

IMHO, even if we keep Tamou, we need 2 props, and if he retires we need 3 new props, and even than we would have no depth. I consider Twal and Seifart sub NRL standard, and they would struggle to play as props in all NRL teams. We may consider swapping them for aggressive, impact players.
I agree that we need at least 2 new 2nd rowers, as we have only Blare and Papalii, again no depth.
Re canters, Doueihi and Naden would be my 1st choice, with Kapoa and To'a as wings or depth centres.
Agree with all of this, except that I wouldn't have Kepoa play first grade again (or Tommy Talau). Centres is a serious problem. We need a really strong defensive centre. Douehi and Naden aren't a good enough centre combo and we would still lack speed and x-factor in the backs.

Definately a first grader, would waltz into any pack in the league.
I like the guy, he is good for depth. He is a solid, if uninspiring role-player.

Twal is an excellent tackler, but is completely one-dimensional. He is Tolman 2.0.

Considering that Twal NEVER bends the line, the fact that he rarely passes or even looks to pass, while stunting any forward momentum can get very frustrating. And because he gets the pill WAY too often (and very often on the penultimate play in a set) that is what sticks in my mind.

It's fair to say that every team needs a Tolman, but IMO Twal is a poor man's Tolman. I also think he has regressed, sadly never reaching the potential we all thought he had when he burst on the scene.
Maybe it's a product of our style of play / negligent coaching, but as it stands Twal definitely does not waltz into every team.

Small forwards come into their own in a team with forward momentum (small players in general really). Creating that momentum has been our Achilles heal for 12 years.

I've always heard the opposite - an informal agreement between clubs about the appropriate sequence of announcements.

E.g. when the photograph of Kikau was leaked in a Bulldogs jersey. I also recall an incident a few years ago, the player escapes me, where one club announced early and their incumbent got the shits.

Maybe they are informal rules, this highlights why.

This would never happen. I quit my job and it took at least a couple of weeks for the figures to be clarified. Has anyone here ever quit their job and their company has given them a proper pay out figure on that day ? It'd have to be a pretty simple cash in hand type job with no holiday or other leave and no super payments etc.

I didn't sign anything.

You quit as of a certain date and you get all your owed salary up to that point paid out.

I really think some people aren't viewing this accurately at all. This is someone quitting their job.

If there was some trade deal that is different. This is the area where we as fans could think the club stuffed up. I think we stuffed up releasing him without a trade deal in place but it's not a big deal.

Does anyone here work in HR ? It just seems the criticism of the club in this instance is at crazy levels of stupidity.

I could be missing something because I'm not an expert but no one on here has provided any sort of factual information and posts like yours don't appear to correlate with the reality of HR practices/ contract law in a corporate environment.
Actually,Lucios entitlements cld be worked out in one quick calculation re number of days out of the year he has remaining....theyre now NOT going to be paid Lucio
His manager shld have signed off on this (or wotver they agreed)before decisions made

Really ? I quit recently and they had to pay me out twice. I don't think it's that simple. I also don't think a manager would sign off on it. I assume that would be an internal HR process.

I don't think it's easy to prove defamation but you make some good points.

Honestly though I don't read or watch Fox or the DT at all. I watch the games but I don't watch any rugby league shows. The negative narrative doesn't really impact me.
