Wests Tigers Coaches

With our roster, free agent options and the Dolphins needing players, the new coach is on a hiding to nothing. Madge must be quietly pretty happy.
Having a milkshake, a reverse Ponga situation.

As each second passes without cc taking the sacred WT coaching oath of blood …the less impressed I am with him.

I have a theory. Wests Tigers do want CC as our #1 target (evidenced by his 6 hour meeting at the Club this week).

However the selection committee under Sheens will still do due diligence on other candidates that come forward & offer opportunity to apply.

However our contingency plan which the Club/Sheens will understand is a strong possibility (if CC decides to stay with PP) is BRETT KIMMORLEY. Sheens aka 'Shifty Sheens' will know ...

* BK knows the pathways setup of the WT, Balmain, Wests & Macarthur as good as anyone.
* BK will have a strong rapport with our CUBS 15-19yos who we are determined to build the Club around.
* BK has achieved at the highest level as a player & come with that is respect.
* BK, with his high footy IQ, has been around the NRL as either commentator or pathways in recent years so will understand the rules & how recent changes have impacted the game.
* BK has strong values and has been through the greatest of personal adversity.
* With all the focus on other potentials, BK has the opportunity to coach the team without the additional pressure & start building player-coach relationships & see who the players are that will drive the team forward.

And no, I am not BK's mum! This is just a theory that I have convinced myself of lol

I love a good theory, I disagree with the premise, but a worthy contribution nonetheless. 👍

We're not looking to sign CC because he will bring talented youngsters with him (though no one would complain if he does!). We have the talented youngsters already at the club and have systems in place to keep developing our junior pathways into the future. We need a captain to steer that ship, which is why CC is a target as he's been playing that role at the Panthers for a while now.
So are we looking for someone to develop our pathways, or an NRL head coach ?
A bit hard to do both, as evidenced by CC's role at Penrith. ASSISTANT coach and pathways.
Big difference.

Kimmorley was a crap coach in the u20s , don’t want him as permanent 1st grade coach

Just as an aside, the last year Freddie Fittler was coaching the Roosters in 1st grade, they finished wooden spooners.

People change.

From all reports it was a 6 hour visit, that is a long time to be somewhere you don't have to or don't want to be
Exactly mate,
It sure was more than just a tour of the CoE, With Lee/Sheens/Pascoe being there too.

The other posibility could be and maybe the media failed to report, is that Ciraldo was resting at the CoE due to fatigue from driving a long distance from Penrith to Concord which is fair distance, it's 46km.

You know why we have so many headlines? Because we are a rubbish team. Fix that and the headlines change themselves. Maguire had to go.

Yep. The issue is winning games which means having a better team.

The issue isn't just headlines is it. The issue is bad headlines. I think we'd get a lot more positive headlines if we won. I think we get a lot of headlines because we are useless and we have a lot of supporters.

I don't think Madge had to go but I understand the decision. No coach is going to last with a lot of poor seasons in a row at a lower performing club. Maybe Bellamy would last if he didn't make the finals 4 years in a row. I doubt any other coach would.

You don’t have to make the top 8 to improve as a team, you just have to climb up the ladder. Something Madge couldn’t do in 3.5 seasons.
