Junior Reps 2022

Here is the article in The Courier Mail about it:

NRL new chums have continued their youth build up by signing the 2020 Justin Hodges Medallist from the Langer Trophy competition.

Corey Thomas won the inaugural Hodges medal, awarded to the competition’s best player, playing for Wavell SHS in the Brisbane Broncos-sponsored elite schoolboy competition.

A fullback, Thomas is a clever signing by the Dolphins who were reeling in rookie talent to develop around the club’s established NRL signings.

Thomas, who played in the Wests Tigers system last year, is a very good all around footballer capable of making the big league.

He is fas but can play tough and enjoys the contact.

Indeed he is a former Norths Devils junior lock who does not shy away from the physical stuff both with and without the ball.

It is a shrewd acquisition because is capable of coming off and Dolphins fans should doff their bright red caps to the organisations recruitment staff for thinking outside the square.

Don't think he's played for a while.

Anyone go to the game. Any standouts ?

Tannous seems to be building going of his try rate.

Don’t know if this is the right place for it but Corey Thomas has signed with Redcliffe Dolphins. I
Was wondering what happened with him. Another one that fell victim to the Covid break.
We started him off in SG Ball rather than Flegg and he never got the opportunity to push for higher honours. Was nowhere to be seen this year. Makes sense he's gone back home

Does anyone know where we can find which juniors comprise our Cubs (Pathways) squad?

In yesterday's interview, Sheens alluded to this squad comprising both Tigers & Magpies training together each week. I can only assume it's a selection of players from SG Ball, Andrew Johns & Harold Matts, but would be nice to know who.

Don't be silly - the club doesn't share this type of information with the public!

A number of our Wests Magpies premiership winning Harold Matthews team line up for Westfields Sports High today against Hills which is loaded with SG Ball talent from penrith so will be interesting how our younger guys match up.

Also interesting that Matts backrower Lachlan Galvin lines up at halfback.

Westfields: 1. Luke Laulilii 2. Mohamed Alameddine 3. William Craig 4. Solomone Saukuru 5. Aiman Yaghi 6. Blaize Talagi 7. Lachlan Galvin 8. Denzel Schaafhausen-Mino 9. Tallyn Da Silva 10. Sam Tuivati 11. Jeremiah Leatigaga 12. Sosefo Finau 13. Kit Laulilii 14. Heith Pritchard 15. Markkuz Ofanoa 16. Ricardo Oloapu 17. Sebastian Piukala 18. Mark Williams 19. Bryce Anae Roberts

Fingers crossed Brendan Tumeth, Justin Matamua for NSW & Chris Faagutu for Qld all get a run in the 17 for the Under 19 State Of Origin next Thursday. That could be our future backrow right there!

Faagutu no longer a part of the QLD squad. Not sure why. Hopefully Matamua and Tumeth get a crack!
