Not until mid June. We had a good KOE side with seasoned older players. Not many kicked on this year - our youth could have done with a few games there for experience is what I thought at the time. Thought we missed a trick.I could be wrong but I think KOE was COVID cancelled - Jab me if I am.
Just want him for the post match pressers.Geoff toovey to ceo will fix all our problems 🤔 💭 🤔
Yep. Our best player will likely want out.Omg I just realised what Barrett as assistant would do for Hastings 😲
Thanks Mike 🙂 I knew You'd do a great review and I agree 💯Factions, interference & influence etc from management.
We have a chair that has been here about 3.5 years I think, maybe slightly longer, who publicly favours certain players. The chair also is our major sponsor. How can you not be influenced by that. Who would ever be able to go against such influence. How can you ever successfully manage players under those conditions. Then to attract players, lawyer tricks were tried: ‘Heads of Agreement’ as an example. A total failure. Who would want to come here with legalese as an incentive.
We still have at least three players from the boys club who if they don’t like being coached a certain way they go running to management. Yet none of these three have ever played finals. The walking on eggshells continue.
We have a CEO who is really just a marketing manager. This he is very good at but running a Rugby League club and doing everything that is needed to win, not so much. To this point has hired all the coaches under his tenure and fired them, or not renewed. With the exception of Cleary who walked out. Under his watch we had the Farah and Benji issues disrupting the club. He was directly responsible for salary cap issues re Farah ambassadorship. Yet he is still running the show. To his credit he did get us a COE but probably in the wrong place if the South-West is our future.
Then we have a Board who is untouchable and therefore unaccountable for their actions. They are very good at running community entertainment clubs, not running football clubs. 22 years with only 3 successful ones demonstrates this.
Now we have hired Sheens and given him the keys to the kingdom. He should have stuck to pathways. That would have been a great role for him. Sheens was kicked out of here for valid reasons. This will not end well.
The blame for non performance however always lay with the coach. Can you see a pattern here?
We havn't issued our offer yet?The WT interest in Seibold is gaining traction...club is deliberating whether he would be a good backup option should C.C reject our offer (due to be issued next 10 days after board meeting)
Was Seibold one of the applicants or are listening to Douhie. The WT interest in Seibold is gaining traction...club is deliberating whether he would be a good backup option should C.C reject our offer (due to be issued next 10 days after board meeting)
Blocker gave a quick remark that if cc gets the gig we could see Barrett join him as his assistant.
Who knows if blocker heard that officially or just journo gossip.
Really. It’s a big job. We need a 2012 > 2014 Panthers recruitment job undertaken by Cleary and Gould which ironically included Ciraldo as a player.Just the last couple of years, on the average our player roster churn has been about 25-33% per season.
I did a comparison with other clubs once and this kind of figure wasn’t unique to us.
And I’ve done the injured rankings. At any given time across the season, I think about six players injured is average.
We flogged the smug at LO with their next man up circus not too long ago. That shows the difference injures can potentially play.
If cc comes, we need some or all the conditioning and recovery staff, or at least knowledge of what they up to!
A good roster is unless without depth, but that’s a whole new ballgame. Need to keep the best and brightest of our excellent juniors, bring them through.
Was Seibold one of the applicants or are listening to Douhie.
So I was right - KOE was cancelled July August September etc. All teams faced the same hiatus - that is the real issue - why did we go backwards and others went forwards? Not until mid June. We had a good KOE side with seasoned older players. Not many kicked on this year - our youth could have done with a few games there for experience is what I thought at the time. Thought we missed a trick.
Believe it or not @BAGNF05 ....I was looking forward with excitement to yesterdays game thinking WT had a pretty good chance of winning, with our new coach and everything.......silly me eh!I recall a time where I would wake up excited to go to WT games, we were known as everyone’s second favourite team. That period wasn’t so bad.
Part of me still does on game day too. Then I look at our team and remember the attitude we normally present with and wonder whether I should make other plans.Believe it or not @BAGNF05 ....I was looking forward with excitement to yesterdays game thinking WT had a pretty good chance of winning, with our new coach and everything.......silly me eh!
And I'm 💯 positive that was not your intention either bagnf05.And I do apologise if I did offend, it certainly was not my intention.
Signing or delivering news in person?Alright so Seibold gaining "traction" only started after AD said he wouldn't mind him being coach Seibold is set to become coach of Hull KR in the ESL
Ciraldo spotted today at the COE again today 3rd time in many weeks we should have an answer at the end of this week about the coach
If we were to do similar it would be something like the following.Really. It’s a big job. We need a 2012 > 2014 Panthers recruitment job undertaken by Cleary and Gould which ironically included Ciraldo as a player.
That way we can introduce the juniors in stages and have adequate depth when required.
Funnily enough when given the same opportunity with a blank cheque at our club he spent the majority of it on 3 players.
