He looks younger too. 🤣Madge looks de stressed and happy. He could have the final laugh at the tigers hierarchy by winning the world cup at the end of the year, and I hope he does.
Got a point there mate what has Ciraldo done in coachingi time traveled,so we missed cc and? ,SO WHAT
Next weeks headline: Tigers just want a coachNext weeks heading. Tigers want a experienced coach
We had someone, but we decided we had the roster to win the comp and it was the coaches fault they weren’t performing.Would kill for someone as committed long term to the club right now
I know what you mean. I remember Alan Jones taking over Balmain around 1991 or 1992. The team were just starting to slide and he looked terrible as a coach. He probably was terrible anyway, but it didn't help starting with a high profile team past their best. I really think Flanagan, Morris, or hopefully my pick, Payten, will be able to start getting this club moving in a positive direction. I truly think this will happen over the next couple of years.Think Ciraldo missed a trick if he actually rates himself as a good NRL coach of the future. If he does eventually jump in with a team high on the ladder or after Cleary finishes his contract, fair chance the natural cycle of teams means his team slide down the table over his tenure. Where does that leave his first grade coaching career?
The Tigers offering him a 5 year contract with good pathways now in place and building a war chest of salary cap space. Plus the COE now in place. If he backed himself to bring players over and develop the talent in the pathways, he takes the Tigers up the ladder, secures his reputation, then after 5 guaranteed years he’s probably even in a better position for his next first grade coach contract.
Even if he doesn’t quite make it work, he has 5 year’s increased salary guaranteed and probably walks straight back into an assistant role somewhere else given his record there.
If he can’t bring himself to pull the trigger in this scenario then maybe he isn’t the great next coach the media is pumping him up to be.
Melbourne consistently have their best players in key positions and build their side around them. Their recruitment and retention is first class
It works because they consistently have the best players in the NRL in key positions and players go there to play beside them. We have no players even close to that level - hence why we have so much trouble recruiting - and now even retaining those who want better.
Me too, I'm an old Balmain fan, but I feel a real link with the Maggies now as well. The Tigers can have my top half and the Magpies my bottom half.
I’ve come to love the Magpies a lot.
