Wests Tigers Coaches

Was Flanno at the roosters and the dogs?
Or just the sharks....

LOL, anyway Flanno Jnr took Newtown to A grand final win.

I'd love for him to do the same with the magpies too.
wasn't flanagan sr out of a job by the time jr went to roosters?

It has been continuously said that no player or coach wants to come to the WT, while some of it may have been true in the past, it is beyond absurd to believe that this could be true in the current environment.

What is only true is the jobseekers (player/coach) agreement to a contract of employment, and those rumours about the non agreements are just rumours.

There is a chance here for all jobseeking players and coaches to participate in the process of making this club a powerhouse club of the NRL, those who come are welcomed and for those who don't then i ask again, why are are they not participating? Is it too much work for them?

The WT may have been known as the losers for the past few years,
But now that the CoE, major improvements and programs are in place with a relatively healthy salary cap, What else would anyone want to come here? What or who now is the obstacle?

If it's true that those people don't want to come here to participate in this reformed great club then it is they who will be the proven losers in the end.

I think we were on the right path bit shot ourselves with this last fiasco.

Firing madge with the injuries this year and players coming next year was wrong.

Doueihi rated Seibold so that is a plus, he took the souths team Madge had got to 12th in 2016 and 12th in 2017, to 3rd in 2018. But we can't wait until July 10 to show him around, best be getting the skype happening, we need to finalise this ASAP and move forward trying to sign players

Seibold is committed to England Rugby until 17/07/2022.

Next guy coming in has a bit of leverage now knowing we offered a rookie 5 years
I can see why you would say that, but they shouldn't. Ciraldo is seen as the next big thing (for whatever reason) and is going to have a string of coaching offers coming his way. He can afford to knock some back. Most of the other options have to run the risk of missing out on years of good pay by knocking back a coaching job (if they ever get one again). It should be easy enough for a competent negotiator to play hardball with them and avoid an overpay/excessive contract length.

Too long.. Another 2 weeks just to get him to see the facilities..

By the time this club gets a coach we will have the under 19's fill out squad as there will be no players left.
2-3 weeks won’t make a difference. Anyone decent for 2023 are gone already. They’re planning to be ready for the off season and November 1 negotiations.

Some are even suggesting we wait another year for Payten.

Granted its a pretty bad bunch, but he’s the best available by a considerable margin.
Seibold is probably my pick too. Big risk with what happened at Broncos, but he was rated so highly at the time Broncos gave him a 5 year contract.

I suggest we don’t offer him more than 3 years but now we’ve offered Ciraldo 5 we’re in a difficult position.

Cc hasn’t really done anything.

He’s simply one part of the silky smug machine.

There was a hope he could bring his part along but he declined.

As the poster said earlier, we’ve been talking to him for awhile.

We would not have chased him had he indicated his final intent.

This is all his fault, wasting our time.

He’s kicked the ball for touch for himself and it’s gone backwards.

He’s an unreliable Merkin.

I’m glad we put the deadline on him, probably gave him too long.

A development coach doesn’t even want to come here
How low can we go
It’s probably better if we don’t have a coach at all
Maybe then we might start winning 😆

One answer may be to install some stability in the club, starting with the coach, and hope that a 5 year plan is enough to develop and attract talent to be able to be a top 8 (or top 4) team within the 5 years, most likely from year 3 onward. Another may be that an offer of this length of time is, in itself, enough of a lure to attract a quality coach, with the HOPE that the coach and the administration work together to develop the team. In any case, the downside is that, for a club like ours, the expectations from the fans are that within 12-18 months of the appointment, we are already playing semi final footy. Anything short of this, and we'll be back where we started from.
Whilst I can see the wisdom of a 5 year appointment (assuming it is not a media beat up) I think that it is too long. It's fine for a club that has been inconsistent in reaching the finals, and needs a coach to build what already is a competitive side, but not where the hunger for success is such that is over-rides any short-to medium term plan.
What are people's thoughts on any offer for a 5 year deal?

Don’t have to worry about it now that CC doesn’t wanna come here

Werent you talking about cyber bulling a few weeks back and the effects it's had on you? What a horribly hypocritical yet utterly unsurprising insult from yourself. I see you still have not developed any insight into your own behaviour.

Why are you calling me a dipshit anyway? Chill out.

Wasn’t he talking about Lee, and his poor handling of a simple media request?

Agree mate,
I think i made a similar comment when Madge was sacked, but it's not the end of the world.

And while the club has the proper systems and resources in place then i think, even any smart rookie coach would be sufficient.
