Because he could turn out to be a future Bellamy. TBH could be totally wrong. But in a nut shell not a coach I would sack Madge for.

How any Wests Tigers supporter would speak fondly of Ivan Cleary after what he did to the club still astounds me.
He signed McInness out from under everyone… he had no money - he said that openly
God No - couldn’t take responsibility for his own actions on field… no way he can lead a team.

Only if there are built in performance targets that need to be achieved.
I like the idea of 3 years with the Clubs option for years 4 and 5.

Agree on Morris, he is really underrated and has succeed with young guys. Plus he has a connection to the club, I would back him to slowly turn things around.

When we became a development club, does that mean the development only applies to the players? Are we not developing our own coaches?
If we’re developing Noddy, why only for 12 games?
The development of a coach could also include outside club experience as it is in Toddy’s case.
Clubs that survive and thrive have lifetime members with a strong loyalty. Members who may disagree on the methods but never on the goals.
It was reported that we recently asked Sticky to come on board as coach. He declined saying, he wouldn’t coach against Raiders.
Where he started his playing career is where he will finish his coaching career.
How can we foster this kind of allegiance?

I can't really do any less other than not watch at all. I don't financially contribute to the club anymore.
The real damage was the head slam manoeuvre at the end of it which escaped scrutiny - Macho Man Randy Savage would have been proud of that one.

Like Sheens and Bennett co coached the Raiders in the 1980's to success maybe a team of Shane Flanagan and John Morris (both have coached at NRL level) as they both appear to have attributes that can move the club forward in the right direction.
Flanagan appears a tough operator and Morris can assist in the pathways program.
Both ex WT players (maybe Flanagan was ex Western Suburbs).

You're right mate.
All this has shown to me, even with sheens involvement, the ceo and board still have too much power in footy decisions.
Surely, their approach was not a sheens directive? Not sure if you know?
It seems to me it stinks of another obsession pascoe has with the Panthers. How many stuff ups has he had trying to turn this club into the Panthers. Cleary, ciraldo, COE, the doco he specifically mentions Panthers.
I know his tight with the board. But if his still going to have power in the football operations I think the board have to make the tough decision and get a wests, balmain wests tigers person in there to get some identity back.
Hopefully the board reflect on yet another embarrassing footy decision blunder and make a a dam move.
Not sure who'd be a good candidate to take over tho?

what a horrendous couple of days. just lost all of our bargaining power and made ourselves look even more embarrassing than we did before. every coach that is approached will be asking for a 5 year deal now.

Surely the board already has plan , B, C & D underway once CC rejected the offer. I cant believe they would be starting the search from scratch, or am I being a bit naive 🙄

Good points mate. I think Noddy and Sheens need to do 18 months and get our forwards competitive somehow. Then find someone who wants to coach them, not someone we are basically begging.
I’ll add, Madge should have seen his deal out with these instructions.
Ask him at what point does he take responsibility for football operations.
