I'll throw a left field name out there for shits and giggles, what about Neil Henry, he had the titans in the finals with a no frills side, all started to go pear shaped once Hayne arrived but before that they were on the up.

Whoever the coach was I’ll back 100% , even if is john Morris, Shane Flanagan, Kristian Woolf or even anthony seibold! I just want a long term coach that makes the team successful instead of firing a coach every 2 to 3 years

Now based. On the stupid moronic incompetent situation we have put ourselves in I would target (not 100% in this order but close):

1. Woolf
2. Flanagan
3. Payten
4. Gardiner
5. No coach ie captain coach.
6 - 37 No coach ie captain coach player
7. Daylight
8. Morris or anyone else interested. In which I would ask them how much they would pay WT to be coach?

And if in the interview anyone says that they are ok with our current pack… kick em in the arse as they have no idea!
 
Agreed BAGNF05 for the 5 years for CC. Not sure for anyone else however. This deal should have been signed before we let MM go. If we only had a brain. But since this is not happening and there is no-one else available that I would offer. a 5 year deal to…I would turn my attention to pigs…. Get some good pigs….will start winning and stop being a bottom 4 club that we are. Then you can sign almost any coach. Heck with the right team even I could get them to the semi’s and that’s with zero experience. But even then I would think twice especially with the front office that we have!

Whilst I can see the wisdom of a 5 year appointment (assuming it is not a media beat up) I think that it is too long. It's fine for a club that has been inconsistent in reaching the finals, and needs a coach to build what already is a competitive side, but not where the hunger for success is such that is over-rides any short-to medium term plan.
What are people's thoughts on any offer for a 5 year deal?

It would take some time before players from the U16's Harold Cup Grand Finalists mature enough to play NRL.
I would imagine it's players in the mold of winger Tajh Colquhoun and prop Jordan Miller that a new coach would be seeking to develop.
There would be several rough diamonds in the lower grades that too offer potential.
To totally rebuild this club your going to need at least 4-5 years to see long term benefits.
Long term benefits are where all grades have been developed to play a certain brand of footy so at any time a KOE players can step up and play NRL to cover injuries and suspensions, just like the baby Broncos used to be able to do some time ago.
Personally I think if you are going to chase a coach for a long term contract you would need to have a club option in place in case it went pair shaped.

I would like to see Ben Gardiner given the opportunity,however he could be down the pecking order now

Bryce Gibbs' comment about communication being the best asset of a coach resonates. Bennett, Cleary, Sheens, Bellamy and Payten all are very good communicators. Morris as well as I watched him at our local cafe speaking with his assistants and delegating responsibility.

In the dressing sheds, Cleary is photographed at halftime sitting with his team in a relatively relaxed moment speaking with his team who are all sitting and attentive. I looked at a halftime photograph of Maguire in our sheds standing, obviously angry and gesticulating with his finger. A few listening maybe.

Shouting, gesticulating, swearing and being angry is not tough and it does not make you tough. When that fails, what do you have left? Nothing is the answer. Good communication is the key and our next coach has to be a great communicator.
