Wests Tigers Coaches

That we were turned down by an assistant should be embarrassing enough, but somehow the club manages to outdo itself yet again. If it were a one-off then it could be overlooked, but this is a persistent theme with the club - declaring an interest in someone (usually a player) before being turned down. It's a foolish way to do business and invites ridicule.

We should be clear though that we signed Api and IP without any noise.

I reckon the way they went after Ciraldo was hilarious.

For the last few weeks many posters have been giving it to the club for sacking Madge, not having a replacement in the bag and generally the way they have handled the whole saga.

Personally I think they have gone down the right road and have no issues in how they have gone about it. Sadly Madge had to go his record since winning a GF with Souths has been terrible. Now for the timing , we needed a new coach lined up long before pre season, so they could have a input into recruitment and retrenchment . As for sacking him before we had a replacement lined up, well it would be impossible to actually interview candidates without the press and Madge getting wing.

It was a big call, but the right call and they have been upfront about their intentions

Had the Sharks to the finals for two years but plenty of obstacles - $353,000 salary cap deductions for two years, the fall out from perhaps the worst scandal ever to hit the NRL and subsequent impact upon morale at the club and dealing with some pretty big egos among the playing group. Despite all that, he laid the ground work by bringing to grade a number of outstanding talents eg Mulitalo, Nikora and Katoa. Ironically, the first two played for NZ on the weekend. Had a WTs coach achieved that , I'm sure most would agree he had performed well..
Completely agree, I would want Payten first but can't see it happening so Morris would be my next option by a large margin.

Can't agree with how they've gone about it sorry. We've flogged this horse.

Gee cobar, how many assistants are we going to have, well I guess we were stupid enough to have 5 captains so why not 5 coaches
You obviously know it was a joke hey. 👍
We could have one for every home ground even. 🤣

You're right mate.

All this has shown to me, even with sheens involvement, the ceo and board still have too much power in footy decisions.

Surely, their approach was not a sheens directive? Not sure if you know?

It seems to me it stinks of another obsession pascoe has with the Panthers. How many stuff ups has he had trying to turn this club into the Panthers. Cleary, ciraldo, COE, the doco he specifically mentions Panthers.

I know his tight with the board. But if his still going to have power in the football operations I think the board have to make the tough decision and get a wests, balmain wests tigers person in there to get some identity back.

Hopefully the board reflect on yet another embarrassing footy decision blunder and make a a dam move.

Not sure who'd be a good candidate to take over tho?
Bring back steve noyce

I just don't get what John Morris offers to turn this around based on his experience and the "current" needs of the club. To suggest that he is better credentialed than the man we just sacked..
It would be great to really know what the problem is with this club/players....would it,matter who was coaching them, is it their attitude, and if so where did this attitude come from ! and why has it been allowed to progress to this stage- surely the problem isn't always the coach...and now it seems no coach is that keen coming to the Wests Tigers, why is that ?

I just have an awful lot of questions, and one is, why do the players that get picked for Test matches etc do well in the test match and so poorly with us (eg Nofa), I know they have better players around them so I guess that will be the answer to that question, but at the moment there are more questions than answers re what's happening at the WT's, and where to from here.

The only impact it had on the NRL fraternitiy is to question who in their right mind thought that doco was a good idea!

If we'd have got the results they were planning to get
- It would have been up there with one of the most genius moves ever made by a football club.

Yep - You answered your own question
