Wests Tigers Coaches

Gibbs was a trouble maker at WT apparently, being the reason he was let go.
So I guess if you are a trouble maker at WT there is every chance Gibbs was going to be a disruptive influence at the Sharks also.
Gibbs provided an insight into a player's view on his old coach and also Todd Payten and John Morris. That you consider he was a trouble maker doesn't make his opinion less valid. I appreciated him taking the time to respond to questions put to him. It just highlights that loyalty to WTs is still alive. Well done to Gibbs.

Pretty surprising the way the club shafted him. He literally found out in the newspaper

Morris signed McIness.... Deemed a big miss for other clubs at the time.

Fitzy signed Hynes and Finucane when the Sharks were Rid of
-Woods ridiculous contract
-Johnsons Ridiculous contract
-Dugans Ridiculous contract
-And got a fit Moylan (On big Money)

Have also had a couple youngins come on the boil - Talakai etc... Which may or may not have happened regardless of coach.

Sharks were looking beyond Morris for months prior to him leaving - Which also would have hampered buying players....
Morris has openly said, He had no money to spend in his time there..

Johnson is a huge fan of Morris

Anyway... Who will we leak as our second choice target today? And who will we leak it to? Buzz or Chammas?

Well all the talk about leaks. I see ciraldo mail is still leaking that he's just to make his decision tomorrow. Who's leaking that?

Leaks everywhere in nrl isn't always the club like the media tell you.

The Brooks leak is a concern tho.

It's hard to see the truth at Cronulla.

On the surface he did a good job in tough times. Had good rapport with squad and good rep in the junior space.

Sharks top dogs saw Fitzgibbon as we see ciraldo. Upcoming coach that will attract players.

They then leaked stuff to the media as PR for sacking John morris.

In reality I think JM was a dead man walking and they didn't think he'd do as well as he did.

Why they didn't view JM in Sam'e light as fitzgibbon not sure.

But would be careful of believing the stuff that was leaked to the media.

All of that is correct - Apart from the bit about Sharks seeing Fitz as the top dog.
There were parties there that wanted Flanagan back for a 3rd stint.

They didn't get that, So they sufficed for Fitzy.
Those same parties didn't want Morris come hell or highwater...
For what reason I don't know.

A lot of time and effort was used to get Ciraldo,
The offer to him was more than very good.
If he wasn't interested he would not have spent 7 hours at the CoE.

But i haven't heard what the reason is for his rejection, has anyone from the media bothered to ask Ciraldo why he has rejected this massive offer?

It would be nice for the fans to know what his answer is after all this effort from both sides.
I think it could be one or more of four things:

- it's because people are scared of being seen as failures (look at the way some players use 'I want to be in a winning club' as an excuse);
- they don't want the long-term stress of trying to implement change (I know how mentallydemanding that can be from personal experience);
- they can't envisage how to turn the Titanic around;
- or he thought there is no chance of success with the staff and/ or players.

This one quote tells you all you need to know. They don't get it.

“‘We are sick of stuff coming out of our club into the media all the time,’ a Tigers source told Wide World of Sports.”

11 years of data versus a vision.
