Brooks is signed until 2023 so doesn't not need to leave the club early he still gets his salary so no free cap space.
He can sit playing reserve grade in 2023 wests tigers till need to pay his salary so doesn't really help
If the club doesn't want to sign him in 2024 then that frees cap space

100% in that Hastings and AD should be the backbone of this team.
