Matty Johns?

Look Nah. There is just something too flighty with him. As a consultant or temporary expert he would be great to come for a Month and point out diagnostically where some faults are. He would loose interest like his brother after 3 months (in Johns case it will be the next TV contract).

I see Cooper Cronk as this Generations Matty Johns. Cooper thinks and overthinks every action every move. He is the only player I believe to have taken to the field just to coach. Honestly I would go all out and hire Cronk. If Cooper Cronk succeeds we would have a top 4 side, if he fails we would have at least repaired a lot of flaws and damage in our playing style.

Teddy and Paps came through our pathways. Fat lot of good that did us!

That was because we put our eggs into the wrong basket , because at the time they couldn’t see the forest from the trees . The moment teddy started fluffing we should have put our eggs with paps. He was always a gun . But hindsight is 20/20. We also could have jumped at the chance of getting him back instead of playing people like mbye . not only did we mess it up , but we had a chance to fix the error and still didn’t . Just some bad decisions all round regarding papenhuyzen .

Taking the comments way too seriously, I was simply looking at it from a different angle. What if the leaks were sanctioned and strategic? Who knows what the truth is? As with most of the content here it is pure speculation and conjecture.

Hindsight does have twenty twenty.

Hindsight also tells you when you have poor decision makers.

It is a long term vision thing isn't it.
We look to loosing Teddy and have paps on the benches (JAC had started to move elsewhere).
While Manly Kicking a successful Trent Hodkinson out for DCE.
Easts Kick Mitchell Pearce for Cronk. (bloody mercenaries).

We have the Cleary rebuild and we take Chris McQueen, broken neck and all. I understand Reynolds but I will never understand the Mbye signing (in fairness Mbye played better then I expected, probably around the 300K mark).

Yet we never learned the Forest through the trees lesson. We backended Brooks and Nofo! Not only did we re-sign our 28 year old winger for 500k per season for 5 years.,,., we backended his and Brooks contract! What were we worried about coming 14 instead of 12th?

Where is the long term? We moneyball pick fringe graders for the last 4 years. No real plan to identify key weaknesses and get the players we need in there! (or maybe a failed plan. That James Roberts and BJ Leulua thing at Centers is going so well *not*)

When Tim Sheens was released from his duties previously - I was not in support. His interviews & wisdom were outstanding. However, one of my bosses, an old bloke said we missed our opportunity at a very good coach by the name of Flanagan. The rest is history. I hope we don’t miss him this time. Although I wouldn’t be opposed to Morris, although riskier. Go Weststigers,

Ivan was one of his closest friends, if he didn't see that coming how can we expect him to read the room on all other NRL matters? If we're punting Madge for 3.5 years of mediocrity, how does he survive?
Again, I want all employees of WT to excel at their jobs. It means well actually support a decent side.

So you know exactly what your friends are doing all the time, every time? They share every secret with you, every comment, every outcome with you?

You don't think Ivan Cleary had a vested interest in hiding something like that from Pascoe, hiding the fact that he was being courted by Panthers?

Did anyone else at Tigers guess that Ivan was having second thoughts? Did the newspapers know before Penrith dropped the story? Did any of the players know, who saw Cleary all day every day at training?

You also don't know what Pascoe really knew and what was made public. There's every possibility he long held suspicions.

It's pointless to speculate and it's a silly argument to place on a person.

All the other stuff is fine, but to be backstabbed... that's not the fault of the person being backstabbed. Next you'll be outing Julius Caesar as a bad ruler, for not predicting the motivations of Brutus.
