It's cool to recruit players but you have to be really careful. Pay marquee dollars for marquee talent but even there you have to be careful. Ponga at Newcastle is a classic example.

I think we have to do what the Storm and Penrith do. They lose players left, right and centre and top quality players. The thing is they have a conveyor belt of talent coming through.

This is a results business, so lets take a look at how recent changes have improved our results.

We played Manly, Bulldogs, Warriors and Eels under Maguires coaching. We won 2 of those games. We scored 91 points , 94 against.
We have played the same teams under a full coach's box led by Noddy. We lost all 4 games.
We scored 38 points , 116 against.

That's exactly why blaming a well credentialed coach for team underperformance when the club has underperformed for 10 years is a mistake.

Greg Inglis just spoke very highly of the WTs' comeback last night. If anything, WTs through that performance signaled its intent. I want more of it and want more youngsters like Matamua being promoted. That is our ticket out of where we are, not buying off cuts.

I'm not as convinced as you are that we've turned the corner. The game after the Panthers should shine some light on how we're travelling for me, to get some kind of perspective? It shouldn't be too difficult to get the squad up for a game against its arch enemies Eels and Panthers, but who knows? they could play us into form?

I’m generally scared for next week. I think GNR said it last night, Parra are pretenders. I think it’s easy to see that Panthers are the real deal. I fear we will get pumped next week. I understand the rest of your post but this comment is factually incorrect. We've signed API and IP. Did you watch IP yesterday. He was the best forward for Parra. Parra's pack has been huge for a while. Admittedly they had Matterson and Paulo out but they still wanted to send a message.

The thing is no matter how bad we look money matters. If you offer the right player the right amount of money they will come.
