Its become more boring. Most sides adopted the melbourne tactics of slowing the ruck with the wrestle for quite a few years which stifled attacking football. Then we went to the decoy runners with multiple passes out the back. Good ploy except everyone was doing it. What i find interesting is teams like penriff, cronulla and cows play football that is closely related to WT style of 2005. Quick play the balls, lots of work around the dummy half, slick ball movement in the backs which is more about letting the ball do the work rather than the constant use of decoys. Those 3 teams also have mobile skillful packs ( ala WT 2005 ) rather than lumbering plodders. At the moment we don't have the talent in our roster to even attempt that style of play.

100%. I don’t think any of the changes in the modern game would be beyond Sheens to adapt to. He just needs better cattle.

All clubs are littered with ex players in roles I dont think we need to be reactive about that.
But the lines are really blurred in relation to Sheens position if he becomes coach.

I think we need to swap Brooks with Moses, and save the money for a centre, fullback or secondrower

Have offers been made to Morris or Woolf? There is no information out of the club other than the press speculation that Sheens may coach if asked to do so. But again, that is purely speculation at this time.

An offer was made to Morris, no offer to Woolfe but multiple discussions. Both have told WT they are not interested.

I think none of the prime candidates want the job ! That's how bad it is folks so I think they will announce in next week or so That Sheens will become head coach for 2023. The problem with this is I think Sheens will agree reluctantly not a great way to start.
However to me the deficient roster is by far a bigger problem than who the coach is ?
If Sheens can train Robbie ,Noddy etc as assistants can still work out
What we need is about 4 more signings of same Quality as Api and Papalii
and everything will start falling into place

Yeah I tend to agree. Shifty Sheens has got someone to throw the media a curveball to shift the narrative in the media for a few days, whilst in the background, they work out the arrangement with John Morris.

Had his contract pulled that he'd been sitting on for months.
He'd have been at the Dogs with Woods and Teddy if Des wanted him.
