Wests Tigers Coaches

I can’t speak for others, only for myself. I think he should be there because he’s the best available option. If you think the club should go out and sign a better option, im on board.
Brooks is the best available option? This club will never play finals football as long as he is in the halves of this team.

And if we don’t , let’s not try others we already have , but keep trying him until he plays 250 games wirh no finals. Love thst idea
Fine, try them all you like. And when nothing changes, get back to me. BTW you might wanna suggest that to Sheens. He’s the one running the show. I just work here

Whether Tim and co can deliver, well it’s in the lap of the Gods and the roster remains second class.

The process has been laughable, a massive waste of time and effort because Tim didn’t do his homework and so make him coach.

The club simply can’t justify his selection out of this unholy mess. It can’t tell us it did the right thing.

The only good thing about Tim will be his desire to justify his near nepotistic selection and the massive hate-on the players will receive.

Sheens is definitely up against history if he gives himself the job. No coach whose been out of the game for a decade, let one north of 70 has ever had success. But then again, winning and losing won’t matter for the next couple of years. I’m starting to wonder why he said that 🤔

It’s little wonder we can’t find a coach when Tim has been in charge of the resumes and says he’ll do the job.

He should have declared his interest from the start so he could have been sidelined in the selection process.

I’m not alleging corruption, but this is a seriously flawed process. I’m surprised it got this far.

People are now saying that Tim will recommend himself.

I’m not arguing his coaching merit (many are) but his unfair advantage.

If he’s selected and we have another dreadful year, that’s pretty much the end of this regime.
Maybe a good thing. A huge price to pay though. All unnecessary and self inflicted.

WT held a meeting today. I do not know the result but there are no current live options other than Sheens and some very left field options that have not been fully developed.

Expect some statement from the club tomorrow afternoon.

Live options???? What a joke - why fire someone if you already do not have someone lined up? Such poor management practices.
Flanagan is ready and available - he should have been the number 1 guy to be appointed and we could have moved from this mess weeks ago.
Now we are going back to the past to try and recreate something that was a fluke (A great fluke and one i will always cherish). Sheens had no success in the UK so why would we think he is the best man for the job because the media and some old boys are backing him.
The board is so spineless which makes my blood boil.

I actually hope this was all part of Sheens’s plan, because if it was not, then how inconceivably dumb are our collective board for (a) letting go of a head coach without a replacement, and (b) allowing this coaching recruitment charade to take place publicly?

Either way, it is so wholly unprofessional it’s like watching Fawlty Towers.

I used to believe many of our problems were because of a 50-50 split on the board Balmain/Magpies but since Balmain lost their 50% due to stupidity that no longer applies. The problem with that is the issues at the club seem to have got worse not better since the magpies have control. Our administration as a club is beyond adequate description it is that poor.
Maybe private ownership is the way to go (no to anything Elias is connected with) because things could not be any worse

getting smashed by the dogs and warriors really seems to have shifted the rationale behind the coaching situation. Before then it felt like we could make a choice, now there are no choices

Personally I was hoping we could get Payten even if it meant giving Kimmorley a year. IMO Payten is the next supercoach.

It’s been a bizarre turn of events for sure. Sheens’ current job seems perfect for him too at the moment.

My concern with the potential Sheens, Farah, Benji coaching scenario is this….Sheens will obviously oversee them over a few years before one takes over. However, what if things don’t work out? We’re already the laughing stock of the league.

Even decent coaches come and go every 5 years or so. Some don’t even get past one or two years. Imagine if we have to sack a recent club legend early into their first coaching job.

There’s a part of me that hopes we can steal Payten but i know it’s a pipe dream. The realistic side of me says we could get Flanagan if we want him enough as no other coach seems to want a bar of us. Kimmorley doesn’t fill me with too much confidence. Then there’s that risky option that’s also kind of exciting to see what a few club legends could do together.

Whatever they decide, they need to get it done ASAP to give us some stability and ability to work on recruitment and retention.

It's a pretty small nutshell if they leave out his Canberra record entirely. Also he coached the Panthers before that.
True but it is what it is also his record at the Tiger's doesn't look that bad if you consider all the BS that comes with the Tiger's one could ask how he did it must be a saint or say the Tigers lucky to have him stay so long because it could have been every 2/3 years a new coach only Tim has broken that with his stay
