I think he's done well with NSW. Time for someone else though. Maybe they will have Ron Willey tutor Ben Elias and Shaun Timmins for a few years . This seems like a good idea.

I don’t know what level you got to, as I progressed from juniors to seniors one thing stood out…all the best players were the dirtiest on the field. All 34 players out there tonight have grub in them. Some just wear it on their sleeve.

Not really. For the past 5 years he has had the best side on paper. He has lost 2 series with that gun side and in both deciders he lost, QLD were severe underdogs.
When QLD had the gun side, we got the job done.
Now I get it. It's Greg Bird. Not really a thug but definitely a massive grub.
Tino is a grub who should've been sent off twice, but really should've been rubbed out of the game before Origin.
QLD are underdogs because NSW people bet on NSW, and there's more of them. That's all.
He wouldn't get away with sh*t at Wests Tigers. He'd be rubbed out of the game in 6 months.
Played some rep but didn't set the world on fire. Think we'll have to agree to disagree. In my experience the good ones were very tough but not necessarily dirty, some were but some were total gentlemen.

Of course. That atmosphere was massive. The game needs it. Noticed guys like Luai shit their pants and cut the niggle out when there was a chance they’d get belted too…

Fitler is a terrible coach. How he lost in 2020 should have been the end. Tonight was just the signature on the paperwork.

No way.
We lost the 2021 Origin series 94 - 26
Game 2 this year we get beat 30 blot in the second half.
We then lose Kaufusi, Taulagi and Munster to Covid, on top of Coates and Cotter who couldn’t play after game 1.
We were deserving underdogs and that only got worse 5 minutes into the game.

Yep but if he doesn’t have access to a full strength side, he barely wins or even loses like in game 3 last year.

HOW EFFING GOOD!!
To me, best game of rugby league I remember seeing. Maybe second after the Broncos/Cowboys grandfinal.
Let's put all the knives and guns and jokes and analysis away. I think it will take me a day or two to comprehend how good it was.
Even though being raised in NSW, I was cheering so hard for the Maroons. Seeing Slater and Thurston at the end was amazing. These guys just get Origin, they just know how to win.
All week, they would have been talking about standing up for one another. They would have taken the team through all possible scenarios and told them how to come out of the other end.
Watching the Penrith boys on the floor crying was a cherry on top. They'll probably win the premiership, but Cleary didn't stand up where it counted. He's had one good half in the entire series.

It was a modern classic.
Id be surprised if many of those 34 players are able to back up this weekend.
It will be interesting to see who makes the Kangaroos squad for the WC.
I won’t be comfortable with the blues halves.
