Wests Tigers Coaches

Flanagan reviewed the skills of his playing group and implemented a playing style which matched the skillsets of his players. This is the opposite to Maguire who has had a one style fits all approach ie his style.

I'm looking forward to Sheens' game plans. No doubt they will very different to those of Maguire, better matched to the skillsets of our players.
It's a tough one here, if we match the game plan to the skill sets then we'll do 5 half assed hitups and then a poor kick. We have the poorest squad we've ever had, very limited players. We don't have a squad capable of playing attacking ad lib footy.

The sad thing is Seyfarth could join the Sharks and he'd be a good forward in a season. Let that resonate for a while.
Now you are kidding - He's a forward that's as meek as a baby cat...
He could teach consistency, Ball playing and plenty of other things....
Fundamental of a forward is to run with impact, He has zero - Much like speed, If you don't have it - You don't have it.

I'm not sold on this.

I think we have a limited squad but I think it's a lot better than some of the squads we've had in the past.

Can you remember Hassen Saleh and I think it was Bajouri.

if Sheens does what he did in 2003-04 and clears the deadwood, bloods a stack of kids and develops their skillsets through the week then it's a great appointment. hopefully if he goes to market he buys more Brett Hodgson's and Scott Prince's as opposed to Ryan O'Hara's and Adam Blair's. will be very interesting what his plans are for the roster. hopefully we see a few promotions like we did with Ngatikaura, Matamua and Pole in the preseason.

That is your opinion which I don't share. No player in the NRL is "meek as a baby cat". That's a poor comment to make.

You didn't answer my question....
You said you don't think they will (Or should) Be the assistant coaches.

Genuinely, What are your thoughts when they are?
I don't believe they will be the major assistants but that is up to the club. That is just my view but I have no issue if they are appointed. They are tow of the best players we have produced.

His recent claim is that he has increased the spend on football department by 60%. Ok but what has he done to ensure that money is well spent? By my calculation we are wasting 160% of that money.
Based on what ? By my calculation it’s more like 20% . I actually have no idea I’m just firing off bull crap statistics .

This is where Sheens' experience and tactical nous comes into consideration. We all know who put together this squad but I remain optimistic that there will be improvement.

Does anyone think Robbie and Marshall will be involved recruiting new players to the club .
If either is deemed as taking over after Sheens 2 years as coach, I think they would definitely have some say in the longer term deals in particular.

I reckon Benji could sway some players over to the club. Been around a few different team environments and would surely be popular with some young ones coming through.
