Wests Tigers Coaches

Billy Slater won Origin without any 'Coaching Experience'.

Coaching is less about tactics and more about roster.

IF Benji can attract new talent, inspire emerging talent - assistants can be deployed to take care of technical stuff.
Both origin sides were chock full of talent. It’s about something bigger than the individual. Something our current mob don’t get.

Where do we get our next win from? Things are looking proper grim.
  • Panthers (H)
  • Cowboys (A)
  • Broncos (A)
  • Knights (H)
  • Sharks (H)
  • Roosters (A)
  • Dragons (H)
  • Raiders (H)
If Penrith take the field minus their 7 Origin players, then we need to win this weekend.
I also think the Knights game is must win and hopefully we can upset the Dragons.
3/8 is a poor return but I can’t see us getting any more than that.

Ciraldo was bog average as a player…barely FG standard. Defence is more attitude than technique…they’ll be right

20 Odd years of watching this team not being able to defend - especially with these 3 same people involved has me disagreeing with you completely....
Benji attitude (His whole career) was I don't have to tackle - And I don't get tackled.

It's about Footy smarts - Billy has plenty - Benji has little to none...
Robbie is the assistant...

Heaven help us

I can reluctantly accept the Sheens head coach with Benji and Farah as assistants for 2 years. As much as I don’t see it as the best plan at least it is a plan with some thought and not much risk.

Benji being given the head coach from 2025 role without even one day as an assistant is just stupid and shows that we are a laughing stock. Let the guy own the role first by showing what he can do.

If you wanted to give Payten a 5 year deal in 2 years, I’d be up for that. He’s gone away, worked as an assistant at a couple clubs, now showing what he‘s capable of. This reeks of a guy whose put in no work and is going to be gifted his job. Silver spoon and all that.
Don't usually agree with your posts but you're 100% spot on here.

Is there any successful NRL coach that got the job after only 2 years of assistant work? Head coaching for any side (let a lone a dumpster fire of our club) is a ruthless job, if Benji is serious about this career path he should be put as coach of a junior side, work his way up to assistant after proven results and then push for head coaching.

That's incorrect. He will be Assistant from 2023 to 2025.
