Wests Tigers Coaches

We're all here thinking that this is a terrible decision.... and maybe it is. But I thought Madge would be a great decision. Didn't turn out that way!

Sheens has a record of getting a budget team to the finals, through a crappy administration. Benji is a bloke who will attract current players who used to watch and love him.

It could work... I don't think it will work, but it could. We were wrong on the other side of the equation last time!

I hope the long-term deal at least has some clear out-clauses as it could get VERY messy. Imagine the headlines if we sack Benji before he wants to leave AGAIN.

Tigers just confirmed Via member update email: Wests Tigers have today confirmed that Tim Sheens will take over as the club’s Head Coach in 2023 with his former premiership-winning playmakers Benji Marshall and Robbie Farah by his side.

Benji will attract players to the club without a doubt, learning from Sheens and what he has already learnt from Bennett are advantages. If we are going to try someone with little experience rather than a previously failed first grade coach I don't mind it. I would've gone with John Morris personally but I'm just happy a decision has been made.

Reported on Ch9 news. WTs set to offer Marshall a huge deal under Sheens and then taking over himself. Hastings and Doueihi spoke about Benji and said some nice things about him. Doueihi said you can tell Sheens cares about the players and has a great knowledge of the game.

Glad we didn’t go Morris. He scraped into the finals twice. Once we should have prevented that. Then his employers decided there were better options and went with a rookie. Not a glowing CV.
