Wests Tigers Coaches

Anyone know much about David Furner?
Google says,

David Furner (born 6 February 1971) is an Australian professional rugby league football coach who was the head coach of the Leeds Rhinos, and a former player. He is the former assistant coach for the South Sydney Rabbitohs in the NRL, and the former head coach of the Canberra Raiders with whom he spent his whole Australian playing career. A New South Wales State of Origin and Australia national representative goal-kicking second-row forward, he left the Raiders as the third greatest point-scoring forward in NRL history before enjoying a successful career in England with the Wigan Warriors and the Leeds Rhinos.

He played for the Raiders under Sheens didn't he?

Doesn't matter who the coach if we have rubbish players.

I haven't seen any improvement from any player apart from Offa to be honest.

Going to be interesting if we lose every game the rest of the year.

Dogs defence not the best?

He could but he won’t because it’s all too hard.

He’s made this bed, he’s sure as hell not going to lie in it.

Ask @stryker 69 there’s a number of political considerations in play.

Tim has skirted every consequence since his second coming.

Crafty and maybe devious, that’s why he’s our coach soon.

Apart from cheer the club on and screwing our coaching, leading to total devastation, what’s he been up to this year?

17 Applications for coach (that we know about) have been binned.
CRAP

Bring it on!

No snowflaking!

What has the Timbo done right this year?

I hope and pray he’s a better coach than a footy manager.

Appointing a successor before one even starts is novel.

Very democratic and totally performance based.

And If Benji fails badly in year 1, we are up for yet another fat payout.

We spend like drunken sailors.

Coaching and burn this years squad.
There’s not enough kindling in the world to do the bonfire justice Tony.

My own sacrifice will be to get one of the geeks at work to hack the wests Ashfield site and download their annual report and chuck that into the inferno.

Hopefully Tooves or another accomplished coach, genuine talent- is watching from afar, extinguisher full but lying dormant next to him.

The Clayton's coach (Older supporters will understand)

Listened to Sheens' interview on ABC Grandstand with Moore and Lewis, aside from stating the glaringly obvious that we don't have points in us, he has a worrying amount of blind faith in Marshall being able to take over from him after two years as an assistant coach. The two most recent graduates into NRL that I would consider successful, both Fitzgibbon and Payten, have done extensive apprenticeships leading in to their promotions. Unless Marshall is leaning toward being a man manager Bennettesque type coach and expects to have a roster that requires minimal coaching, he will be an abject failure I believe.
