I heard some where that sheens has picked the spine for this weekend we should get a look at what he’s planning for next year

In the first part of that interview, for some reason cut from the attached, Sheens was asked about the coach selection process. He said firstly it was Lee and Pascoe who demanded Madge was punted. They were confident they would get Ciraldo and when that fell over, Lee and Pascoe put Benji and Farah on the top of the list. Sheens was initially against the idea. He said coaching is a 24/7/365 occupation and any outside distraction such as a media job or running a business would not work. Over several interviews, apparently lasting for hours, Benji and Robbie convinced him they were prepared to forgo everything else they currently have going to concentrate on coaching.
It appears Sheens is beholden to the board and simply doing his best with their demands, crazy or not.

Scary part about all this is Sheens already knows its going to fail going into it so in 5 years he can simply say I had no choice and did the best with what I had to work with.

Just the reality of the nrl these days it’s a lot easier to move in 1 coach then it is to move on the hole playing group

I swear if most players just brought into what the coach is saying they would be far more successful

Just feels like no thought was put into the Marshall thing. Sheens even said it was only brought up over lunch. Retired a year ago and never entertained the idea of coaching. Only our club.
