Isaiah Papali’i #265

Also, off the top of my head, our 2006 recruitment drive included Slammin Sam Harris, 2007, Danny Galea and Morris (our Cronk), 2008, Payne and 2010, Daniela.

Must be symptomatic with Tigers fans No one seems to understand the term "Marquee Player"

I'd reluctantly consider Blair... Even though he was Trash
- And well over rated before he came.
Maybe Hodgson (He'd had a rubbish year before he came)
And Lote (From a rival code)

But facts are - Papalli and Koroisau are amongst the small handful of players we could consider Marquee Signings made since the Merger.... And they weren't made under Sheens.

The rest - More or less made their name here....
Including Ellis.

I can’t see Ice being a Blair. He’s only 23-24, we’ll be getting him at his peak. He’s shown some dickish behaviour the last couple weeks, but that will all be forgotten once he gets here.

Mate - He's 23....
He'll be hitting his straps at 26 or so.

His last year with us he should be really coming on.

Blair was a supposedly marque signing at the time, but he was just overrated. I remember taking a particular interest in every game he played as soon as there was talk about us signing him. Both me and my uncle were of the same opinion a good player but overrated. Beginning of the end for Tim at the time.
He only played badly with us. He did OK at the Broncos?? after he left.

His first games for the Broncos he was on the back page of the paper under the title Teddy Blair.

He played some OK games at Brisbane - Did nothing to speak of at the Warriors...

Also missed the tackle on Thurston that ultimately cost the Broncos the GF....

Blair had the best fast play the ball in the game , that’s what Sheens wanted but sadly soon after he arrived , WE never adapted to the rule changes and the wrestle and Blair eventually found his mojo no matter who he played for after us.

As I said good player and I don’t think he played bad for us, just not up to the hype and expectations I guess. I thought he was a bit overrated at the time and nothing has happened to change my opinion. Just my opinion though

I disagree about Ellis,he was the best forward on both sides in tests against Australia before he arrived.I was delighted when Buckets got him too our club as it would always help give our forwards a competitive edge against any NRL club.
The only reason imo that Ellis wasn't recognised as such before he arrived was a certain degree of arrogance from supporters here .The NRL was the strongest competion so we had all the best players was a common belief and it was wrong

Mate, I know guys in the UK that are considered his friends watching him play from the time he was 18
- Who say they never imagined he could play as well as he did for the Tigers.

Also overlooked that he came through in the centres and spent time in the middle before making a career on the edge a few years before he came out to OZ.

I consider him the best player we had... Don't get me wrong - But he was somewhat unheralded before he came here and became the beast we knew him as.

Adam Blair sucks and Brooks is the best !?

LOL some of these debates are insane on here.

Brooks, halfback of the year 2019.

Adam Blair won grand finals and represented his country multiple times.
Yeah, he sucked at the Tigers but to deny his prior and post form is laughable.
Brooks halfback of the year 2018 not 2019

Plus Jamahl Lolesi, who was highly sought after

The premiership squad centre Sheens bought and played at Lock or 5/8 most of the year?

Wanted in the NRL so much so - He spent 1 year at Tigers before heading to the super league at 25?
Yep.... Real bidding war for him.

Absolute rubbish, and here is proof how highly he was rated before he played a game for us: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nrl.com/news/2009/01/22/ellis-at-home-in-tiger-territory/amp/

Whatever the club may have done-or not done-in the past in such cases, I'm pretty sure Sheens will not cop anything less than this guy honouring his deal to the letter and that Brydens will make sure it happens.

Brydens have done nothing in the past to give me any confidence
