Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

The clubs legal people must think Pap’s contract either has a out or the Madge sacking may give him a good chance of a successful challenge . We would not even be hearing this stuff if the contract was rock solid.

I think the club will hold off giving the bad news till they can soften the blow with some signing news. Anyway I say the contract has been dissolved but time will tell
All the noise came from the Eels camp, which means Paps contract is rock solid. imo its a case of the Eels recruitment/retention finally switching on and realizing they need Paps, and since there's no loophole try to encourage a backflip.

Shouldn’t even be a conversation about letting IP out of his contract regardless

Compensation or not, he either plays or watches us play from the sidelines

If he chooses to leave after 3 years cya later but until then he stays no questions ask and if the club let him go I’d just be about done

the guys can be idiots. Outside their bubble this rubbish don’t fly and they all know it.
do you think PAPS is that stupid to go to the Telstra store , get the latest iPhone on contract and never make the repayments. Come on that’s legally why it’s a contract, so you stuck until you full fill your pledge. Unless Telstra agrees, not you, no sweeteners . DEFAULT. new ball please

Moreso a case of them having much more money than they did at the original offer...
They've lost 4-5 of their starting 17...
Not including Brown.

They're waving Brown around in front of us - Hoping it fills the hole and sweeten the taste so we relent....

Does anyone see Hastings is a long term lock option? Sorry I don't.

To me he is an out and out half back and a good one at that.

Is there any junior Second Rowers coming through the club that we should get excited about.

Like the idea of Teig Wilton from the Sharks to join WT. Sharks seem to have plenty of Second Rowers.

I remember Toddy Payten as a player could play both Prop and Second Rower. Can players still play both positions or has the game changed from Payten's time?

I do. We tend to get caught up on the number a player wears on his back. Hastings rebirth as a 13 has been a masterstroke. I see other teams now moving towards the clever ball playing and organising 13 and away from a prop playing 13.

I can see very few teams moving away from a system that works

What do you do for Matamua in the long term?

Agreed and, if you're looking to get a good contract or any contract after 3 years of not playing, good luck with that Paps.

There's not oner skerrick of information to back that up.

If you're thinking this whole Paps thing has me a little 'riled', you'd be right. Another point, if WT let him squirm out of this contract why would we ever get excited about any signing in the future. We'd always be thinking, we'll let him go as soon as he starts squirming. There'd be nothing to get excited about. We've created this monster by letting Moses and Matterson go and then allowing Cleary and Aloiai to break legitimate contracts.
We've got form in this regard and now is the time to draw a line in the sand and say that's it. I really admire the way Melbourne dealt with the Addo-Carr situation a couple of years ago. They handled it really well and came out of it with their reputation enhanced.

They had the money when they first began negotiations, just thought too much of themselves and that they could get away with paying massive unders.

Brown they want off their books anyway, they would be happy for us to take him off their hands as a standalone deal.

Kepaoa nearly always beats the first tackler. He is big, strong, quick and passes well as we saw against the Eels. Like any young centre he will need to work hard on his defence but hopefully we are making moves to re-sign him. As for Toa, I think he is going to be good as well. He was up against Holmes on the weekend and except for one defensive error did well. He has some speed as well and I think our gain will be a big loss for the Knights.

I reckon they are both good players and could improve a lot. To'a scored the winning try for us against the Cowboys.

IMHO. getting a proper props is much more important than getting a 0.1% better winger ATM!

I agree but I'm feeling pretty confident about our props now as well.

Stef, Pole, Musgrove, Joe O, Twal, Seyfarth, Matamoa (maybe a lock but maybe he is a prop), Tamou (if we retain him). There will be others coming through as well.

Our edge backrowers are probably our biggest issue in relation to the forwards.

I think now our biggest concern is getting our spine right.

It’s more about Parramatta disappointing us, who are we to them.
I’ll say it again, only believe it if they face the camera on the issue, they are throwing up to much inuendo .
get a spokesperson and front up, or shut up.

I can fly too, but don’t watch. Look now.
this club and there treatment towards women never seizes to amaze me.
The can throw a condom on the EEL mascot, wankers.

They didn't think better of themselves
- They were being greedy and trying to take everyone... Where's the foul in that?

Successful clubs get to pay unders - That's how it is...
Koroisau is at Penrith under 500k.... Best Hooker in the game is on under 500k.

Tigers were paying the 2nd best Hooker in the game 900k - 2 (Lower) Salary caps ago.

Now Parra have missed keeping a Hooker, A Couple Middles - They've got more money for the Papalli deal....

I don't agree with what they're doing now, Just understand how it happened at the time.
