Asu Kepaoa #236

A big pre-season purely training in that left centre position will do him good. No rush to re-sign him though, can't see him being high on the priority list of other teams. Give him a chance to start the year in left centre to prove he can perform consistently at this level. I do prefer seeing him at centre rather than wing!

Bad miss for the first try but made up for it in the rest of the game. Really growing at left centre.

He openly stated his preferred position is wing but he’s much better in the centres.

Is Staggs a first grade centre?

It appears that your overt and undue criticism of competent young players is only applied to anyone in a Tigers jersey!
Staggs is way too inconsistent.

Don't know if he has attitude issues or if he has trouble focusing or what.

When he's on he can look like a champ, but at other times he can look like a chump.

Have always liked AJ. Starting to come good.
Me too.

He was bagged by many when he first came here and was playing on the wing.

I always thought centre was his spot and when he finally got a shot at centre he had a couple of bad injuries and now he's back and finally showing everyone the potential he has.

Hope he stays healthy and develops into a top notch centre.

Played well tonight but If he is our number 1 centre for 2023 we are in trouble he needs to improve defensively as we found out when they scored their first try we need to aim higher & buy a quality centre or two & personally I think Junior Tupou has more to offer in that position

Good game from him.
Some great hits.

Agree that he's a work in progress though.
Our centre stocks are quite low though - its his for the taking.

Like to see Naden return to centre too.
Agree. Naden is a centre. I’ve been excited about 2023 since last year. I do believe we will see a more complete team.
Even if papa doesn’t commit to us. There is a bright future.

There has always been a theory that a player needs at least 50 NRL under their belt to really fit in to the weekly grind of NRL and be a quality player.

Kepaoa only 22 years old and 17 NRL games

To'a only 22 years old and 36 NRL games

Naden 26 years old and 50 NRL games.

I think these three players are quality and have had their set backs with injuries but I believe WT need to stick with them in the top grade and really work on their weakness in the offseason.

Let hire a former top class centre (someone like a Matt Cooper one of the finest defensive centres) to work with these three guys.

I want WT to lock up these three long term and develop them. It should pay dividens in the future.

It’s been nice to cheer Go Flippers! Instead of Nooooo Flippers?

AJ had a cracker of a game at centre.

He was young when he arrived and has been injured.

Starting to really make a difference in defence and the effort areas.

He will be a weapon.
I thought he struggled a little in D still last night but certainly improved in A. He made his presence felt and held the ball. I can’t wait to see him come good after the terrible start he had.
