Believe it or not this is the best most civilized forum.Maybe I’m offside here, but I have a question for those in the know, are other NRL forums like our one , better or worse. How and in which way ?
Yeah mate I love here but I can’t let myself go elsewhere. Thx hank37wBelieve it or not this is the best most civilized forum.
Should see what goes on else where, this place is pretty tame.
West Side is da best.West and East side?
22 years in the making, good start. BULLSEYE 🎯maybe a good start might be calling the reserve grade wests tigers
Well Western Suburbs is thriving and ain’t going anywhere, and I’d hate to see Balmain die out. Two proud old foundation clubs who combine to give us our unique DNA.Personally I wish Balmain and Western Suburbs would piss off.
If I wanted to hear from reserve grade associations I would rather listen to the Northern Pride prattle on.
To me those other two died decades ago.
You are a very naughty boy JT by posting this so soon after Stevec's post.maybe a good start might be calling the reserve grade wests tigers
Given the original deal between the two foundation clubs stipulated that the joint venture be based in the south-west corridor - we’ve fiddled away twenty plus years (with the miracle thrown in), trying very unsuccessfully to be all things to everybody. You are a very naughty boy JT by posting this so soon after Stevec's post.
Your words are a bit inflammatory and I cant let it go without saying something equally silly like.....how about we call the NRL team the Magpies and the reserve grade the Tigers?
Would I love seeing the Magpies name again....yes I would. But I am not advocating this, or agitating for this to happen either.
But why shouldn't this be so anyway?
As was mentioned by a very respected poster just a couple of days ago, @Bus 2 Terrigal from memory....the Magpies do own the WT, so I reckon this gives the Magpies a pretty strong case for our club to be called Wests Magpies or the South West Magpies if we ever re-locate to Campbelltown.
And from what Lee Hagipantellis and Tim Sheens said in their really interesting podcast recently, it seems there is a pretty good chance this will happen eventually, probably long after I have departed this mortal coil though.
Well you really need to look at what is the better emblem for the team…. A big strong ferocious tiger or an annoying, squawking, pain in the arse magpie? 😉You are a very naughty boy JT by posting this so soon after Stevec's post.

the Tigers emblem is too valuable to the NRLYou are a very naughty boy JT by posting this so soon after Stevec's post.

I was a balmain member at the time and boted on the merger in 1999 and when the club was voted on and formed it was always a 50-50 split of games LO and CSSGiven the original deal between the two foundation clubs stipulated that the joint venture be based in the south-west corridor - we’ve fiddled away twenty plus years (with the miracle thrown in), trying very unsuccessfully to be all things to everybody.
Our club will forever be named ‘Wests Tigers’ as the heritage of both Western Suburbs & Balmain is both vital and of equal importance. But after two decades we simply must grow a pair and base ourselves totally in the south-west - with a feature game or two to be set down for Leichhardt.

along with COE in ConcordI agree with most of your post but I'm not sold on being based in the South-West. I'm supportive of the area but that doesn't mean in my opinion we should solely be based there.
Ashfield is inner West.
