Isaiah Papali’i #265

I've been calling him Pappa.
I'm calling him Dick Head until he comes out in the media and makes an unequivocal statement about honouring his contract for the next 3 years at Wests Tigers.

He's got to realize that after the World Cup is too late because that ends well after the start of his contract at Wests Tigers.

The sooner you can do that the sooner all the noise in the media stops and you can concentrate on giving your maximum effort with out interruption to Parramatta's Finals Run, which will be the best result for yourself, Parramatta and the Wests Tigers.

Having said that, I hope Parra miss the top 4 so that you can be bundled out of the Finals in the first week. It would save you the effort of being beaten in two games if you make the top 4 and that's more effort you can dedicate to the Wests Tigers next season.

By the way "Pappa" sounds way too much like the star of the great NRL feature film starring "Big Papi."

That was the moment he committed.
Someone maybe needs to explain to this bloke that signing a 3 year contract IS a very solid "commitment".

Now Hank, I've been out for hours and have come back to you still going on about Pappa, Peppi, Pup, Puddle Poop. You need to have your Little Lunch and lie down, breathe my son. It's sunny outside if you don't want a nap 😻

Yea like it was alright for us to break Madges contract and telling him he's finished, but when the shoe is on the other foot people blow up.

He doesn't want to be a tiger otherwise he would have committed
Coaches are a completely different kettle of fish to players. It's a results driven business. If the club is not happy with the results they can move the coach on and pay him out. Unlike the players. If you want to move a under preforming player on and that player says , sorry I'm not going anywhere , then you are stuck with them. Has to be a mutual agreement with club and the player. Where the coaches don't have that protection.

If he wants to stay at Parra, Parra would have to offer an equivalent level player.

I think they have 2, maybe 3:
Junior Paulo
Dylan Brown
Mitch Moses (but that is stretching)

Give us one of those and they can keep the turncoat.

Best thing if he doesn't end up coming is that we can dictate the terms of it. We can tell him if he doesn't want to come then we get him to sign a contract where we get something and return and he cannot play for the Eels for the duration of the 3 year term.

We should be sticking it up Parra everytime for the way they carry on with us over the last few years.

No more helping the top teams.

If I was dealing with the situation and knew he definitely wanted out...

I'd say you're here at least until end of 2023 as our squad is decided. Similar to the JAC situation at Melbourne, we'll release you for 2024 if we get a similar quality level player in return. IMO this puts us in a much better bargaining position.
I was thinking the same….if you want out, stay here for 2023 while the club sorts out his replacement…like for like….and it’s up to the other club to offer that

Geez you rub it in. Keep it simple. Unlucky

Getting him to put a foot through the front door is 80% of the battle....

Just to complicate things I used to work with a guy over the West when I was Working FIFO and his nickname happened to be "Poodle", pretty good fella despite being a Queenslander.

Contrary to popular belief FIFO actually stands for "Fit In or F**K Off, maybe I just didn't fit in.

Mahoney or nothing.

Totally different situation. Madge got paid out.

Is Papali'i going to give us 1.9 million over the next 3 years to pay out his contract?

There are quotes and snippets of information around the place that he is looking forward to working with the new coaching team.

He just needs to state this to the media with out all the ambiguity that has so far surrounded this matter and all the noise magically goes away.

If he is not smart enough or have the eloquence to do it then his manager should do it for him.

How the NRL let player managers get away with some of the shit they do, and to make matters worse it looks like they are about to lift the ban on that scumbag Isaac Moses.

How about all 3, (well maybe not Mitch the [This word has been automatically removed]) for all the inconvenience this has caused us.

No person can be forced to

Papalli doesn't want to be at wests its obvious. Why not just let it go and use the coin for player's who want to wear the jumper. This needs to be sorted tomorrow, letting it drag on is making the club look stupid as its very negative publicity
At this point in time I 💯 with you @Chifpy
Until such time that the contract rules are changed by the NRL or whoever is responsible for contracts, so the player knows without any doubt they are committed to play for said club as soon as pen goes to paper.
The only exemptions would be genuine and diagnosed mental health issues or genuine Family issues.
