Just rewatching it as missed quite a bit while out at the pub for something else. James Tamou didnt take a single hit up until the 13th minute and then it was a glory crash ball a few meters out. He made a few tackles but mostly as 3rd man in. If your captain and prop isnt taking a hit up thats a sign for everyone else not to make much effort either

It’s a good point boonboon.
The club has seemingly tried everything to find on field leadership without much success. The club’s 2 long serving players Brooks and Nofa have offered very little and it has absolutely nothing to do with personality, but a lot to do with desire. Nofa has a game with Storm and says he’s “fell in love with the game again”
The club seriously needs to address this issue of being an unhappy camp. Otherwise signing players like Koroisau and Papali’i won’t change a thing.

It is a team playing as individuals for many reasons, the season was over long ago. The foundations for a rebuild have started , chill a bit, don’t lose your marbles.

Went fishing and watched it on replay. It was rinse and repeat of last week. Turned it off 10 minutes into the second half - couldn't see the point in it.
It is clear this team lacks a leader and someone to provide spark. It's also clear that Hastings does that - if we don't re-sign him it's a real worry for next year.

Not only that, we need others to step up when he’s injured or suspended.

We also face the chilling prospect that even if he wants to be, he may never be the same player.

It’s a bad injury, the tackle was malicious and trained.

I honestly think Bellamy should not be allowed to coach in NRL. He’s a grub coach and the sooner he’s booted out the better.

Hastings I have been 100% wrong about. Good attitude, reasonable work ethic.
He was no magic bullet, no DCE but up there as a recruit.

Likewise I am liking the combination of Daine Laurie and Brent Naden. I think Laurie has to move out of Fullback, were going to get a Gun in that position at some stage and Laurie can't block them.
That being said absolutely two top players that could be our backline stability that we need. I would not even be averse to hiring Trent Barrett as an assistant coach and developing that Penrith feel.

It didn't effect the result but that Naden no try is pedantic to the extreme, there are tries that that nearly every single game that don’t get pulled up. In fact I guarantee you’ll see it this round Make no mistake, that doesn’t get taken off a ‘good’ team.

Nah I'm not being too harsh on tamou, just expressing my opinion.
A lot happens in a few years, body starts to deteriorate especially for the older blokes.
I just don't think he's got it in him anymore and I think most would agree.

I noticed this last night and saw it earlier on replay, in the Sharks first set of the match we didn’t put one player in the deck, just hold and drag.
That must have terrified the Sharks pack, I think not. As Noddy said , “I told them to make a statement”. Well they certainly did.
Along with KT having one run in 30 something minutes and Musgrove/ Tamou looking like headless chooks. Even AD really didn’t engage the game for some time.
Not looking like a team that really cares about the last few games, like last year. Think we better start making arrangements to have somewhere to put the wooden spoon coz they are playing with no pride in themselves or the club. Roosters should destroy us, Dragons possibly a chance and we all know what happens when we play Canberra or anyone in the last round.
Also, can we not have a presser where Noddy/ JT sit there nodding and saying how well they’ve trained coz they look like they meet up the day before the game
So disappointing, I’m absolutely filthy.

As I live in Bleak City now, I see a lot of the pressers down here and they are all coaches only. I think the NRL could learn from that coz most of the players can’t string a few coherent sentences together plus they have just played a game of football.
Attention PVL/AA in 2023 - coaches only pressers please.
