That performance on Saturday night was inexcusable regardless of injuries IMO. If you had 17 blokes who were committed to have a go out there the scoreline nearly always would be more respectable than that.No offence but it's as simple as the number of player injuries which has been the team's biggest setback for this year and the main culprit for any team disruption - and ability to build momentum or form team combinations.
Pascoe, Lee, Sheens, Madge or Kimmorley can't control these things. Hope they finally address our depth issues though
Does he even still have that position for 2023?I think it was a tactical decision to give the job to noddy all this experience is so valuable to him when he goes back to head of pathways coaching. This will massively benefit his ability to get players ready for nrl level
I think Kimmorley shouldered some blame for releasing players in the press conference. Not only has Sheens not stepped up, but he has effectively undermined Kimmorley by releasing and loaning players.
Does anyone think that this decision rests with Kimmorley?
Absolutely weak effort by the club. Who hires an unemployed coach (or internal candidate) and then gives them gardening leave to start work next year.
If we had of pulled off an upset on Saturday night they would of been front and centre in the sheds for sure.Remember all the Dutch Ruddering going on when Sheens announced himself and Benji will be steering the ship? Where the hell are they?
Kimmorley deserves a bloody medal for putting up with this shit.
Here are 7 points to remember rather than reflecting on the terrible loss on Saturday.
1. The silence from Sheens/Benji/Robbie is only because they are working on 2023 & beyond. Currently sorting out the football staff they want so can start the pre-season as a new era with coaching, facilities & leaders.
2. The final 2 rounds will be telling for the future of Douehi, Madden, Musgrove, Seyfarth; if Freebairn, Dias continue on T&Ts; and blooding Tumeth, Kautoga and more experience for Tupou. The attitude & qualities of Douehi over the next fortnight could play a big part on his future.
3. Korisau & Paapali will be important leaders for us moving forward along with Hastings & Offa once those deals can be done. I'd be confident Sheens/Benji will be trying to recruit another forward leader (ideally John Bateman or the likes of a Joe Stimson who is solid & good clubman) and backline leader (possibly a Ricky Leutele back from Super League for 1 season). While many may scoff at a Stimson or Leutele, their experience, professionalism & leadership important for the young guys.
4. We will have Blore, Utoikamanu, Brooks, Twal, Hastings & possibly a remodelled Talau to return.
5. I'm sure Sheens/Benji/Farah and the player leaders will sit down in the offseason to germinate our new culture & style of play moving forward.
6. Tupou, Fainu, O'Kane, Kautoga, Tumeth, Matamua, Reilly, Api Saukuru, Ngatikaura, Scolari, Kade Hill, Camroux, Livai Saukuru, Jahream Bula, Peni should all develop in NSW Cup next season (the only Cup players I'd retain are Aitasi James & Freebairn, jury out on Maanaima).
7. Many of our Flegg players can stay in Flegg another season & look forward to our top SG Ball players this season moving up including Dotoi, Cathane Hill, Herman Tofaono, Levi Conti, Tom Fisher as well as the likes of recruit Josh Feledy.
Releasing Gildart has made zero difference, he was playing reserve grade even for this joke of a club.I think Kimmorley shouldered some blame for releasing players in the press conference.
100%, and taking credit. If we had of pulled off an upset on Saturday night they would of been front and centre in the sheds for sure.
I'm not excusing anything infact I'm as disappointed as the next person and just putting it into perspective that our current situation is no different than Broncos (Bennett/Seibold) and Bulldogs (Pay, Barrett, Potter) in recent years - with a young roster and poor leadership/recruitment or coaching the main cause for obtaining the wooden spoon. That performance on Saturday night was inexcusable regardless of injuries IMO. If you had 17 blokes who were committed to have a go out there the scoreline nearly always would be more respectable than that.
Pascoe and Lee appointed Sheens to oversee the club so IMO all 3 of them are accountable for driving standards within the club. If they are happy to just sit on their hands, let 2022 slide even further into embarrassment territory under the premise that "ahh well, she'll be right next year" then the club is in even more strife than it looks.
Someone needs to be held accountable, so if it's not the players after a slaughter like that then it must be HQ for allowing that sort of tripe to be dished up without consequence. All the same players will be chosen for this week. No accountability, no wonder the players are happy to just perform to that standard.
As far as I am aware,he has had no position formally offered for 2023.Does he even still have that position for 2023?
Even Burgess would be in shot, seen vomiting into a corner.100%, and taking credit.
I never blamed Sheens.I'm not excusing anything infact I'm as disappointed as the next person and just putting it into perspective that our current situation is no different than Broncos (Bennett/Seibold) and Bulldogs (Pay, Barrett, Potter) in recent years - with a young roster and poor leadership/recruitment or coaching the main cause for obtaining the wooden spoon.
I'm not going to pretend a person who's been employed than less 12 months is at fault for this.
Noddy would be told who is to be selected each week.Noddy has had the opportunity to play some new players .. but he has continued to pick the same plodding players as before. I know we have a lot of players out .. but we have 30 players plus the Development Players that were able to play.
Wonder who he copied off?Well I think they will definitely be on show at Leichhardt. Probably next week as well but more visible at last game. Maybe even an interview or two.
I hope Benji passed his NRL coaching course coz that could be embarrassing.
Mate we were terrible when Madge was coaching..........You sure?
Sheens sacked Madge and Robbie promoted to the coaching box the week following...
Let go of the Players they have....
Not saying it is - Or solely the reason, But it sure didn't help anything....
A lot on here getting angry with the club about throwing Kimmorley under the bus and setting him up to fail by releasing players.Releasing Gildart has made zero difference, he was playing reserve grade even for this joke of a club.
Nofo and Luciano were part of the problem while they were here as well.
I think the releasing players excuse is a very poor one used by the club.
