Sack Noddy

3 years to rebuild with a cap limited by cleary’s overpriced/ underperforming duds. 1/3 of the capped tied up in the duds. Do your best Madge to restructure the squad with what’s left of the cap. How many times does this have to be stated
if it didn't happen yesterday - No one remembers....

Id say more the people who were bagging Maguire for not being able to coach are now accepting the weaknesses in the squad and are now deflecting the blame that way.
No coach is soley responsible for assembling a squad in a club, and WTs as a club is already a barrier to signing quality players, who ever the coach is - history shows that.
Gould in 12 months has got the Bulldogs on the front foot in terms of roster and securing the coach most hyped who politely was not interested in taking on the role at WTs- and for good reason we have consistently set our coaches up to fail..
Good post Telltails, Maguire was part of a selection committee. Other members of that committee, who were often photographed in cafes with potential signings, also performed poorly.
Maguire had to be sacked as a matter of urgency before his green shoots blossomed. It would have been more difficult to sack him at the end of his contract term which included 23.

Partially correct, the fact is that under Cleary we beat the Rorters, Soufs, Storm and we conceded 1-2 tries in the process! Our defence under our ex-coach went down from acceptable to disastrous!
He insisted on playing mediocre at best players like Twal, Seyfarth, Mikaele, Nofoaluma, Liddle, Simpkin, Gildart etc. while Nu Brown, Pole, Diaz, Freebairn could not get even a single chance!

When was nu brown recruited 2021 or 2022
Diaz and freebairn are NSW cup at best whoever is coaching the team. Only there now because of injuries. See where they are next year under the so called Sheenius
Pole way to young/inexperienced before this year and has only now played more than he would have this year because of injuries

Just checked : Fa’amanu ‘Nu’ Brown joined Wests Tigers mid-way through the 2022 season.

Lots of work to do before next year. Recruitment, pathways, assistant coaches, physios, attack and defence coaches, corporate donors, etc, etc. Less bagging and lots of enthusiasm for our team is required. Sheens is one of the best coaches ever. Give him and his staff a chance.

I've had a gradually waning enthusiasm for the last 11 seasons Col. The club asking for patience after this long after repeatedly shooting itself in the foot for over a decade is equal parts hilarious and insulting. Sheens just didn't want the stink of a spoon against his name.

The time for patience is long passed. What if Sheens/Marshall doesn't work out, are we supposed to wait again?

Who is going to be doing all this terribly exhausting work once Sheens is in the head-coaching role?

Can I ask. So we have been crap for over 10 years now. Players have come and gone. Coaches have come and gone. What’s been the constant that’s stayed at the club? The board? Senior management?

I don’t know much else other than players and coaches
The board and senior management haven't been there for 10 years. Apart from Simon Cook, the director positions have turned over a couple of times since 2012.

Pascoe has been here how long? 6 years. I agree, he should take some responsibility for results and move on.

You're exaggerating. No Cleary duds remained this year but Maguire’s results continued down. The club had seen enough. So had I.

This was his first year with the duds ‘almost’ gone, still paying half of Mbye’s contract at St George (abt $450,00). So this year he was able to finally chase/sign ‘quality’ players for next year
API and papalii, almost the best in their positions, not a bad start with a ‘full’ cap to manage.
We will never know how it would have gone from here on with a full cap at his disposal. But I’m confident the rotating door will continue and we’ll be looking for a new coach again in about 4-5 years.
Time will tell

His green shoots are buried amongst a massive pile of shit that is also of his making

Ben Gardiner was dudded, he’ll pop up at another club in the future and get the accolades he deserves.
I think the real culprit yesterday is Gavin Badger … Noddy says “we need to know the rules” - we’ll, we’ve got an in-house first grade ref on the payroll - what is Badger delivering if we don’t know the rules???
Could have tipped us up on the short whistle too.

One flog. Eight years. Commit. Achieve. 😂

Good luck mate. Too many here in denial to post these facts.

This is the thing that annoys me the most...lets go back over ploughed ground and history with some big names to reignite our sorrows...
Sheens....hasnt coached NRL in 10 years, previously sacked by WTs and sued them,BUT won a premiership in 2005 our first,so he can say and do as he likes....
Farah....big name hooker, rep honours and club captain great player BUT no coaching experience....
Marshall....brilliant player and rep honours, left for greener pastures and failed in the other code, but is a club icon,no coaching experience...
So to sumise, the WTs are relying on the old boys club to reinvigorate a club with a history of poor culture,a boys club reputation and some long time players bagging their mates and coaches, and these three are all part of the culture that has been created by them in the first place...
Good luck for the next few seasons, however every excuse under the sun will be promoted when things go pear shaped,it will be someone elses fault as per the norm...
I honestly hope it works for the club, after all I support it NOT individuals who hang on reputation alone...these young players who are up and coming need experienced up to date NRL coaching,we did see against the Saints what ONE simple error can cost the team....
