Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

The thing with players like Doueihi and Brooks is they could be a great 2nd/3rd foil in a decent attacking team but neither will ever be the main man. And that's our problem, we pay the co-pilots top dollar but have no desire to find a Captain who'll steer us to victory

I see so so many recruitment suggestions some wishful thinking ,some older players on the outer where they are . I'm concerned that we at least keep the few class footballers we already have . Douehi being a prime example
Lose him and gain Shuster omg
Recruitment is difficult at the moment because anyone half decent is already signed for 2023
It's a kinda dead zone because we can't make offers to some of the stars for 2024 and beyond till Nov
I'm thinking how to broaden the marketplace so I've got a QUESTION
ARE WE ALLOWED TO RECRUIT SOME OF THE TOP STARS FROM THE TOP KOE CUP or QLD CUP teams even if they are feeder teams to other nrl clubs
For example. Teams like Newtown , Panthers, Bears etc

Don’t know much about this school boy ..From Fox “
For all the rugby union huff and puff about opening the $10 million cheque book to target NRL players the elbow patch brigade might want to get their own backyard in order first.

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs have landed a significant body blow on rugby union and Wests Tigers by jagging the signature of the son of Wallaby forward Bill Young, Patrick Young.

A lock forward for the Balmain Tigers in the Harrold Matthews Competition, Young is regarded as a similar prototype to Cameron Murray at South Sydney with the Bulldogs quietly celebrating having landed the young gun’s signature on a two-year deal as a development player from 2023.

Young was the player who scored the winning try in the infamous Leichhardt Oval match between GPS rugby teams St Joseph’s and Riverview when one of the railings at the eighth wonder of the world collapsed.

Anyway the Bulldogs have landed a strong emerging player in the son of the former Wallaby forward.”

Don’t know the guy but if he has enough potential for Gus to be interested, whilst playing for us, our “Pathways” program is p..s poor.
More head shaking from WTF !

Haven't seen Young play for a couple of years, so don't know how he has developed. As a youngster it was hard to tell what position he would end up. Played hooker, lock and 5/8. He was one of those kids that didn't have obvious natural flare, but was super competitive so you just had to play him where he would get the ball as his toughness would win you games.

I think he needed to get some of his dads size to have a chance of NRL. Not sure if he has or not.

YES WE ARE. Unfortunately thats where we get most of our recruits.

Well if that's the case who for example have we recruited from top of the table cup sides . We know our own cup side but they have had a dreadful season especially defensively but Newtown ,Panthers and Bears cup sides have had great seasons all scoring about 660 points . There must be some budding future super stars running around there. Love to snare a couple of them before the Storm or the talent rich clubs do .
