Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

If he leaves, need to get Sheens to interview the bloke for 5 hours and find out why. Every gory detail. Winners just don’t stay at our club.
To say he is a winner is a bit of a stretch (alot of potential to become one), in my opinion he has not really achieved anything notable yet in his still early career.

He talks a big game and puts on a face that he is a club man and wants to put in the hard yards so it will be very interesting to see if he has the fortitude to execute.

In is best ever season for us - He wins 40% of the time....
Kid can play...
Might even improve if he ever learns it ain't all about him.

People saying he's on the hop to a better team - To Where? Which one?

There's not one team in the top 8 that he'll take the 6 jersey
- Even at the Storm, He "might" be a "Chance" "IF" Munster moves on - Or position (But they ain't getting rid of Paps) outside that, Maybe the Sharks
- They can fit him.... The rest, They've already got better.

Now he could move out of state (Out of home) to another team (That he doesn't know)
- Where he's not a local junior and is basically a nobody....

Or - He can pull his head in a touch, Shut the F*ck up and get it done here....
I'm not fussed if he stays or goes - If it's all "Too Hard" for him, He mays well get packing.

Who is going to help mentor them as they come through?
Joffa? He may be leaving
Jacko? He may be leaving
Tamou? Likely retiring
Brooks? 🤣
Noffa? 🤣🤣
etc….
Good point but for all our sakes would love to see a confirmed list of who is staying and who is actually going, otherwise we’re going to speculate ourselves into an early grave !

WWOS .The mole saying tigers have 3 or 4 more seasons of pain till till the juniors pay dividends
Who the hell is the mole?
Anyway it seems that 2 key strategies are locking us in to this dynasty of mediocre
1. We build a COE which is not a home ground but a nice gym and practise field and that will make us an attractive destination and as such we recruit lot of big guns
2. We will develop our juniors and when we uncover a few budding stars they will be loyal to Wests Tigers and we have great future roster

Seems to me that the COE won't make a dramatic difference to our roster
Most clubs main method to jump from the bottom to the finals is to recruit some stars .Weve recruited 2 (I hope) .
I can't endure 3 or 4 more seasons of this fiasco

The Mole is Tony Adams and is actually close to Tim Sheens.

I remember Marina Go saying the same thing in 2015. This club doesn’t really care about success.

The COE is a red herring. It's useless when it comes to recruiting or actually improving the team. We probably need it but it's basically meaningless. The old statement of 10 kg is 10kg is true.

Point 2 is the key way forward. If we could recruit quality players we would but we can't. I should qualify this statement. We've recruited 2 high quality players that will make a difference to our team and even a significant difference.

We can't though recruit a team full of established players because the only way we recruit established quality players is picking up established quality players who for some reason are underpaid and typically living in Sydney.

We have a 3rd strategy as well. That strategy is don't play the game the same way the other teams are playing it. That is why we are moving Hastings to lock and basically playing 3 halves which clearly means we have a small pack.

We need gun juniors coming through but to be fair to the club I can't remember how long it has been since we blooded juniors of the quality that we have this year. Our problem is the Rorters blood players like Sualli and Walker. I'm feeling more confident though in this approach.

PANTHERS-TIGERS SWAP DEAL
Penrith and Wests Tigers have discussed a potential player swap which could see Tyrone Peachey return to the Panthers.

The two clubs have spoken about a Peachey/Charlie Staines trade deal for next season. The Panthers have indicated to Staines that he is free to play elsewhere next year with clubs having fielded calls about his availability recently.

The Tigers have long been interested in the 21-year-old flyer but have so far scoffed at his current asking price which is about $400,000 next year. He has dropped down the pecking order at the Panthers and has struggled to feature in first grade this year.

The Panthers first gave Staines permission to test the market in 2020 but he has been unable to find a suitable club. The Tigers are again in the mix.

Peachey has had an unhappy season at the Tigers playing just 12 games and spending a large chunk in reserve grade in his first year at the club. Like Staines, he is contract for next season but the Tigers are willing to cut him loose.

Aside from the clubs needing to agree to the financial terms of the deal one of the other sticking points is the length of contract the Tigers would offer Staines. The Tigers are reluctant to add anything to his current deal.

Peachey played his best football at the Panthers during four seasons at the club. He last played there in 2018 before he made a big money switch to the Titans which he finally committed to after having second thoughts. (DT)

I can't endure 3 or 4 more seasons of this fiasco

In relation to this point expecting anything but another couple of seasons of poor performance is unrealistic but you never know. 2005 was a season we were picked for the wooden spoon like next season. We don't have the talent like Benji, Prince, Robbie and Hodgo in the spine for next season but we might outperform last place.

It's not exactly encouraging but we did cop it with injuries this season big time.
