Are the players unhappy?

I've been pretty adamant that players alone are not to blame for this fiasco.

This year and this performances have been a long time coming and I don't think we have hit rock bottom yet.

But, players generally tend to do better once they leave or are better before they sign. Most of the players that we have now or have had in the last few years would consider their time at the Tigers one of the lower points in their careers.

Do you think the environment has just become too toxic, too negative, too unprofessional and just too mentally draining for the players? We are all waiting for someone to lead by example but are they being given the right S&C, the right coaching, the right mental strengthening to compete week in and week out?

I feel if you ask 100 current and past players, they'd say they have been let down by the off-field staff.

Even with the off-field staff, we have changed our Board twice, chairmen, 3x, CEO 3x and Head Coach 7x since we last made the Finals.

Not at all saying the players are faultless, but I think the toxicity has been created by others.

The word culture gets thrown around a lot but how do we change it? A couple of signings are going to cut it. For me, the issue is the front office unprofessionalism. There are so many examples of their stuff ups that how can you expect the players to be professionals when the company's so disjointed and unorganised?

Let's hope Sheens can work some magic and make us a little more competitive next season so we can build on it. I, however think next year will be worse.

We always talk about administration ineptitude. Let me rattle a few off the top of my head from the last 2 years. Feel free to add to the list.
  1. Not allowing Hastings (suspended) and Doueihi (injured) to travel to a Gold Coast away game
  2. Allowing Luciano Leilua to leave partway through a season and not fulfil his contract
  3. Doueihi's conversation about wanting to play 5/8 or starting in reserve grade being leaked to the media
  4. Brooks potentially being dropped being leaked to the media
  5. Talking about signings in the media
  6. Head of agreements with Josh Addo-Carr (bonus: not offering Nofoaluma or Talau as a swap)
  7. Extending Madge then sacking him less than a year later (bonus: they sacked him the week after a bye round - GENIUS!)
  8. Letting the Cameron Ciraldo non-signing play out in the media (bonus: they released a statement saying they weren't going to sign him)

Sheens sold out the sponsors, the supporters and the minority of our players willing to put in..other players watching this mess will have reservations about becoming part of it..both within(Hastings)and currently with other clubs were looking to recruit
One of the biggest own goals ever!

That most of the players who leave the Tigers to play for another club, go on to be better is a bit of a fallacy. I’d say by far most are/have performed worse or the same. There are of course some who do improve, but this is the exception, not the rule imo.

It really was obvious that senior management decided to give up on our season a long time ago. I’m just surprised it took the players till the last month to follow suit.
to support that, notice Farah was an obvious absentee from the coaches box the last 8 weeks…..he was ordered to stay away so his not tainted as our assistant coach next year by our inept performances

Reinforces the prioritization of perception and image over performance
Shld have been all hands on deck to help Noody..he got completely sold out
We've got more coming with Shenji

Shenji, I like that 😅

At least Sheens actually turned up for work (i.e. went to the game) yesterday. Probably the first time in 6 weeks.
