Wests Tigers Coaches

Where's our AFB or Reece Walsh?
You don't reckon the Knights should be worried - Winning 2 more games than us with the likes of
Ponga, Frizzell, Gagai, Saifiti x 2 etc.... (That's 5 more current Origin players than us)

It's not a stretch at all.... That's just your poor perception.
I’m not getting your point.
So you’re saying we had a crap squad but did pretty well with that crap squad (finishing 4 points clear of the field) and that’s somehow a reason to be optimistic?

We're NOT the worst team in the comp, Ladder position and last few floggings would argue otherwise....
We had the worst squad on paper to start the season, And couldn't keep most of them on the park....
There are teams with out and out superstars - 3-4 Origin players that have only won a couple games more than us...

Not to be reaching, But Luc try in the Warriors game - Wins that game, Madden losing the ball in goal at the death - And we won't mention the cows game....

Those wins - A tiny bit of luck and we're mid table
Still with the worst starting squad in the comp and only fielding 2/3's of it most of the season...

We're crap, But we have far less to worry about that some other teams.
We're the dumbest team in the comp. There's very few players in our team with a footy IQ. We literally lost 3 games this year with a cumulative total of 40 seconds to go on the clock. Two of which could've been avoided by not touching the ball when it doesn't go the 10 metres (not to mention trying to take a blokes head off a couple of minutes later) Against the Cows, don't put yourself in a position to remotely give away a penalty with 1 second on the clock and the Madden one where he dropped the ball over the line was probably unlucky.

Not optimism....
Just pointing out there's MUCH better squads - That aren't playing that much better Footy or getting results that are that much better than our squad... That we've only had 2/3's of for most of the year.

So what your really saying is Madge-Noddy did a great job in comparison to the coaches at Newy, Warriors, Titans etc.

They managed to squeeze a few extra tepid drops
out of our hopelessly undersized & withered lemon 🤣

No.... I'm saying a team with 5 Current Origin players - At least 1 out and out superstar
(Like the Knights) should be winning far more than 2 games more than the Tigers in a season.
It's a reflection of other struggling teams more than what we have or haven't achieved.

The Blokes running that team, With those Players - And those results....
Should be far more worried than ours.

100% confirmed mate. Contract is being signed next week, he’ll return to Sydney next week for a few days and then tie up the ends in Mackay and be back to start preseason, spoke to his step dad yesterday.
💯🔥
Thanks for the updates.

I think if they were good players before this year they can be good players again (hence my coaches quip).

By comparison, I feel we have a lot of never was-never-will-be types.

But its not a handicap race - whether you’ve got an inferior squad or not, if you finish 4 points clear at the tail of the field ... I really don’t think there’s much solace to be had in saying other clubs have worries too.

Appreciate that... It's all perception in the end.

Don't really have any good news for you....
It was 23 years between Wooden Spoons, That would be a record for a Wests fan wouldn't it? There's something....

We have/had three ex premiership winning coaches at this club.
Look at the squads they had to achieve that success - i.e. win a premiership if that is what the goal is - and compare that to our current and recent squads that they have had to work with, and it's self explanatory why they have failed to make any impression in the competition.

Rate any or none of them, it really doesn't matter - the results will not change unless - the club - not the coach - can attract and retain some quality. Other clubs can attract players who ever is coach. Our problem continues to be that the ones we want are not buying what we are selling.

Brett Hodgson has been released.

Bring him back to be part of the Sheens/Marshall/Farah revolution!

Making way for Gareth Ellis as head coach would be my guess....
- Seems 9th place follows Tigers everywhere 😂😂

Don't know he'd come back - His youngish kids are in France these days....
My thinking was he went back there to be closer to them.

Because Gardiner is actually a coach - Noddy isn't....
Coaching this rabble could have ruined a young blokes desire to coach - Or his career as one moving forward....

Noddy was chosen, Because he'll never be a coach - If it goes to shit (Like it has)
It's no harm, No foul.... There's no long term ramifications for the coach (When they're not really a coach)

That's why...
When I spoke to Brett he said he was focussed on developing young fellas. He knew this gig was simply to hold the fort.
NRL360 are hellbent in driving more coffin nails in by saying the WT are coach killers.
Hopefully they will talk about something else now that we are done for the year.

Could not find a better description of 3 years under Maguire anywhere!

Two statements that sum up how narrow sighted our club really is.

They had the perfect opportunity to play a brighter attacking football under a attacking coach but chose to go down the path of a novice coach and the football went backwards faster then anybody had hoped.
