Adam Doueihi #227

AD is not bad, but he thinks he's way better than he really is.

Just looks like a star here cause everyone else around him is a dud.

He's still not a half IMO. Would make a nice 13 if he could defend.
Probably his manager is in his ear telling him he is a 5/8. 5/8s $ are better than second row $ meaning bigger commissions.

I'm not sure what his best position is. I think longer term it's probably 6 or as an edge backrower but I would definitely consider playing him at fullback again.

Halves and fullbacks though in general earn more than edge backrowers. They are also in general more important to a team winning.

As I've said before, our two best games this season had JH at 13 and in control with AD and Brooks either side. Brooks has speed and AD has power. Throw Api into that spine.

AD still lacks some fundamentals like tackling and makes regular errors.

Hopefully a full preseason will help has a lot to work on in his game.

To be fair AD proved he can tackle & read defensive plays against the Dragons.
Let's hope that is his building block moving forward.

It might actually work. I pray it does. It'll give me some hope over the off season.

Well done for totally avoiding the question.
My point (Completely missed by you) is - There's really good money in the back row...

Munster (Best 5/8 in the game) Is only just getting Fifita money now....
- Fifita is 22 Years old.

Pangai is another on more than most 5/8's in the comp - If not all (Bar one)
Tino....
If I could be bothered looking, I wouldn't be surprised to find more
My information on values is what is read in the press.

Fifita is an exceptional talent but he may see a market correction next contract. Pangai Junior's contract is not wanted at the Dogs. Imo their contracts are aberrations. Crichton is unlikely to be on anything near that money nor Martin. Nanai will receive a healthy increase but will it be in the Fifita or Pangai-Junior bracket?

I wrote halves, not 5/8s. So in answer to your statement - Hunt, DCE, Cleary are on huge money (reportedly over $1m) in the range of Fifita and Pangai-Junior. Dylan Brown, Moses and Hunt are likely to attract big contracts shortly. Good halves are in short supply and the market forces reflect this fact. Doueihi is rumoured to be holding off no doubt to cash in on supply shortage.

Leilua got 700k...
Dylan Brown is on less than that!!

My point stands, There's money in the back row - And unless you're an elite half, The good back rowers are on more bread than you.
Stop moving the goalposts. You did not write elite halves.

If by some chance AD leaves, who would take his place....go hard for Muster or go for Brooks-Hastings combo.
Any other takers?

Munster. $7m over 5 years…..we will blow everyone else out of the water….is this LM 2.0??

We still have too many weaknesses to tie up so much of our cap on one player, 🤔
It’s the fact he would attract other good players on less that makes these deals worthwhile. You balance it out with Lodge type signings.
