Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

All everyone on here talks about is the spine when it the forwards that matter. Without them it doesn't matter who we keep the halves
100%. We have halves who would be successful elsewhere and that’s evident by the other clubs who have shown interest. Our forwards have been marshmallows for years. Look at the middles and back rowers for the sides still alive.

If its true about Nu Brown going to the dogs for less money is true !
Wow what it says is that our recruitment and retention problem is that it is SERIOUS .I've talked many times about this but get the feeling that the powers that be are in a state of denial
Since we signed Api and Isaiah last year we have signed Naden who was on the outer due to cap pressure .
Lots of talk about possible deals /swaps but I think everyone is wary of coming to concord so much for the fancy gym .
Please address the big issues change the image . Maybe we have to somehow land a couple of big names by paying substantial overs and hope that will give some critical mass to attract others

I heard third hand today that a WT sponsor was working on a mega TPA for Munster. I can't vouch for the original source but the bloke who told me is in the know. Anyway, he reckons we'll know by Wednesday so I guess we don't have to wait too long to see if it's BS.

Oh yes cant wait for PlayBet to offer Munster better odds on betting tigers games 😂

I thought we could talk to players but not offer money etc ??
I don't care how we do it as long as we do it and join the others that clearly cheat the system.
That would be massive IMO if somehow sheen's pulled this off

Personally I’m trying to wrap my ahead around whether Munster is worth it or not.
Sure he plays heads up footy which Sheens loves but I keep thinking is it the Storm players and systems allow him to do that.
When you think about Hughes, Harry, Cheese, Olem and co and their ability to compress an opposition defence, does that enable Munster to do his thing.
We certainly don’t have the players, at present, to provide a platform that enables him to strike when an opportunity arises.
Or is he a guy who can do that on his own, wherever he plays.
Just some uncertainty from me !

Well know by Wednesday if Munster accepts? Or well know by Wednesday if an offer was made?

I can't decide either. One season off the drink and we could throw big overs at him. I just feel the risk may be too high. Can we trust he will maintain this commitment? IMO he had a great year, but he didn't sustain it. He finished only ok. I'm not willing to pay 1.2-1.5m for ok, he needs to play like he did for the first 20 weeks all the time for that money.

It's the only way to build success in this competition.
Bring your own kids though, and recruit the best teenagers to accompany them, and turn them into first graders.
By all means we'll have to purchase ready made FGers as well, but unless we can create our own footballers we're going nowhere.
Build the foundations from within, and then use that to cherry pick the more elite talent.

That's how the Roosters do it yeah?

I would suggest most of what we did for the first 15 years was develop NRL players....
I don't classify 3/20 odd seasons in the finals as "Success"
- Winning the comp once is massive...

Having a chance to win it every year (Even every other year)
is just as massive...

Not only that, It creates success and players that want to stay.

I've mentioned it twice now, You claim it's the "only way"
Why then, Have we been utter shite for the majority of the time we were developing NRL players....
Say.... 2000 - 2017....

Why hasn't it worked? We've bought through some crackers!!
Generational players.
We're not even an average side...

We've made the finals 3 times in 23 seasons!!
THREE!!

Previous year’s it’s been said Munster wanted to play fullback. You would imagine his next contract will let everyone know if that’s changed.
