I agree, a balanced team needs a strong representation of experience, provided it’s driven by other motivation. Peachey came to us with heaps of experience, so too did Nofa who had to be sent to Melbourne for behavioural modification. You can't beat experience and every team needs it.
I like Staines with his incremental improvement in his game. Your comment about balance is crucial. It's Nofo or Ken and Staines on the other wing. He provides speed in attack and defence. Scolari is also a chance, he is a competitior with genuine speed, strength, defence and finishing. He's also good under the high ball.Staines is a very good trade if we get him. He's a bit wonky and overmatched physically, but he's looked grittier this year and also a little more reliable. Probably the weakest link on a very good backline, but he's a first grader.
Most importantly, he has speed and we're desperate for that. I think he does the other things well enough to make him a certain starter on our team.
I'd sign him on his current deal given upside and improvement this year. Given we get rid of Peachey in that deal, it's brilliant. A winger pairing of staines and ken/nofo has much better balance.
Plus, when we inevitably turn on him, how good is his name for insults? Unlimited potential there.
He could open the batting for Australia with that answer.Asked about his future, Staines said: “I’m contracted for next year. I’m a Penrith Panther until I’m not contracted.”
Musgrove to Dragons and Leniu to Tigers should be the moves we are making.PANTHERS TO LOSE GRAND FINAL STAR
The Panthers realise they can't hang onto their entire powerhouse squad for 2023 and one man they may reluctantly cut loose is in-form forward Spencer Leniu.
The Dragons, who have lost several experienced forwards including Josh McGuire and Tariq Sims for next season, are leading the hunt for Leniu.
The 22-year-old Kiwi has been a big improver throughout 2022 and has the ability to make the hard yards and bend the defensive line back.
Several other club have expressed interest in Leniu but at this early stage, the Dragons appear the best fit for the Samoan international.
Ffs, surely he would be of interest to the tigers??PANTHERS TO LOSE GRAND FINAL STAR

Thanks for the update Mrs BloreGreat faith from Sheens and co. Blore had locked down the left edge starting job for 2022 before injury prior to the first trial of the year.
Only thing stopping him being a permanent fixture as a starter moving forward is health.
Extra year allows him to just focus on footy.
Blore plays and trains with an intensity like few others at the club, been his downfall injury wise but the kind of young guy this club needs more of. Leads through actions, commitment and won’t take a backwards step.
Lol - do you want them to come out and declare their interest publicly?Ffs, surely he would be of interest to the tigers??
So sad when we gloat about a war chest then go back to the bargain bin.The reason we are targeting fringe players is the fact that established ones don't want to come...
In other words we are pissing into a strong southerly and hoping our pants stay dry.I agree, a balanced team needs a strong representation of experience, provided it’s driven by other motivation. If building a successful team was rocket science, we’d be asking whats that big cream coloured ball we see in the night sky? 😂 no, seriously, where I think it breaks down for us and some other teams is the drift away from task focussed evidence to making judgement calls based on a false perception of outcomes.
Released Mikaele,Leilua,Nofoaluma and Gildart early to make a splash in the market......and still......NOTHINGSo sad when we gloat about a war chest then go back to the bargain bin.
The best ability is availabilityPeople criticising re-signing Blore should rethink it. Would be a small deal and is worth a shot for a 2nd rower who has shown a lot in the brief time he spent on the field. He's had unfortunate long term injuries and you don't know how he'll come back but he strikes me as a committed player and it's good to reward those types, even if it hasn't gone well yet.
Just for comparison, a player like Billy Smith at the roosters has been given plenty of money and opportunity despite many longterm injuries. Hasn't worked out yet but even the best run club in the NRL will back injury prone players with potential.
When on the field, Blore is a very good edge defender who showed flashes in attack as well. That's exactly what we need. Find me an available forward out there who can do that for cheaper. I also like backing players with good attitude who have had unfortunate injuries.
There isnt much on the market until November 1st, so stay patientReleased Mikaele,Leilua,Nofoaluma and Gildart early to make a splash in the market......and still......NOTHING
