Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Need to offer overs for both Leniu and Martin. Staines I am neither here nosmall forwards that r there.

If Penrith are baulking at 550k for Martin, we need to come in 20-25% more at about $750-800k for him to consider us. (He is not coming for slightly more people)

Lenui
Korisau
Stefano
Papaali
Blore
Martin

Actually looks like a half decent pack.
Don't think Martin is the rite fit, good player that he is
We need size and power..like he currently has at Panthers who do all the heavy lifting
We've got almost a whole team of smaller forwards, particularly young blokes coming thru

Taylor was the handbrake on the "big 4" signing contracts. The club continued to back him and of course those players were going to attract interest from other clubs they were the talk of the town. Moses may have wanted out anyway but given the state of the club at the time and since hard to argue that it wasn't the right decision for his career. If we are still filthy at him for the joke we were and some say still are we havnt learned anything.
He can never be forgiven for that match he threw against the Bunnies before he was let go.

I have never before or since believed a player was legitimately trying to lose a football game for the Tigers, even if they were lazy or stupid or ineffective, I never had another occasion to believe they were intentionally losing.

Moses threw that match 100%, never to be forgiven, I don't care where the club was at or the question marks over the coach.

I don't begrudge any player for leaving I blame the club for poor management. Yes the club turned their finances around but football management has been disgusting and negligent since sheens left.
Who do you support man? I begrudge all of them.

If the good players never stay at the lower / struggling sides, then the comp never changes and half the fans never get a chance to support a winner.

Yeah but when the club been run as poorly as it has the past 10 years I think u should put the finger at the club not the players.

One thing to note is we have stopped the back-ended contracts that got us into cap trouble all those years ago.

Yes…we have made dud purchases, but they haven’t been compounded by big yearly salary increases.

Overall, I think the club is more astute in managing the cap. Player selection has been the issue of late…

Cleary picked 4 duds on big salaries which killed us for 3-4 years. Add Brooks who is being paid well above his worth and you have the 2022 Wests Tigers in a nutshell.

Finally, we are 1 year away from clearing the mess that was created by Ivan (mainly the Brooks contract) and we have some decent money to hit the market with.

Api and Papi are good value signings for what they will bring. The club did exceptionally well there.

I can’t believe the death riding that is going on!
Madge re signed Brooks to his current contract

All this Munster and Moses talk makes me laugh. I can't see either of them coming to WT ever.
Haven't they learnt from the Lattrell saga.

Martin, Lenui and Stains all look a real possibility given Penrith salary cap pressures and should have the money to out bid most teams. Also not a big move for the players and their families.

We already home to a number of ex Panthers Laurie, Naden, Blore, Peachey, Tamou (appreciate he has left to Cowboys) and Api (2023) so already a connection.

I still think Nathan Brown at the right price would add some much need aggression to the side off the bench

Lenui/Klemmer
Korisau
Stefano
Papaali
Blore
Martin

Bench
Nathan Brown
Pole
Twal
Joffa

That looks like a decent pack to build a team

Like I said I'm not interested in people personal opinion in sheens.

The mess of the past 10 years is not on sheens.

its a forum mate… every post is someones “ personal opinion “ about
something…

Just like how your comments about Sheens earlier was your personal opinion… most of us weren’t interested in that beforehand either if truth be told…

All I’ll say about him is there aren’t many workplaces I know of where you lose your job …then take legal action against your employer and then 10 years later get a job back with them running the joint…

Whether they come or not is irrelevant imo but I would hope as a WT supporter that we continue to chase the big fish.. Never know when you just might land one

The years under JT/Go Administration were nothing short of disgraceful/embarrassing and every thing that the club was building for fell apart and we have still not recovered from it. Every player and fan were impacted by that, and any action Moses made as a result of that pales into insignificance in relation to the set back those years caused the club.
I'm not defending Moses performance in that game but I refuse to turn a blind eye to the leadership at the club of the time especially when we see the success of the many who got out at the time, and then look at the position where we are in.

FYI Scolari is ready and raring to go for preseason training come Nov 1. He's got a train and trial deal til Christmas at this stage.
He's been doing some junior coaching during his time out of the game which is nice too
Scolari, Hill, Tupou, Bula and Ngutlik are all very talented and players likely to benefit from the style of football coached by Sheens. With Laurie, Brooks and possibly Staines we may have real strike in the backs (for a change).

Go watch the game vs the Bulldogs last round of 2021. Brooks Liddle and a few others threw that game to try and get Maguire sacked

I see Salmon is swimming freely beyond tonight.
The “WGD” would be a good fit.
An above average Reserve Grader, the type of player we love here at Wests.
He’d spice up next years Canberra games too 😬

It's not opinion, its fact the club was better when Sheens was here.
