I would love to see a team formed in Central QLD. Taking an area from Rocky to the Sunshine Coast. That's untouched waters from any code and I think it's a gold mine waiting to be unearthed.

Central Qld is in a real downturn at the moment Chris

Sunshine Coast isn't a bad idea , but Ipswich or PNG has to be a priority and possibly Darwin

No one has tested the waters their and if you could get some of the talented kids that end up in the AFL to the NRL instead it could genuinely work

From what I've heard up here, the Nrl want another team that will play out of Suncorp every second week. And Suncorp want the same. Big Bikkies for them

Ipswich fans would travel and in short term might help them not worrying about filling a new stadium or the costs involved

About a thirty minute train ride from Ipswich to Milton (Suncorp )

It'd make ense for them to share the Stadium.
Hasn't that place changed in the last 15 yrs?

Don't we have huge television ratings? Or was I dreaming?

For about 30 minutes we do , then they drop off dramatically

Gardening Australia on the ABC ratings on Sunday arvo skyrocket in the 31st minute

I reckon the Tigers could take advantage of this. We could have the Backyard Blitz team come in after half time & create a haven in our opponents in goal areas so we could watch the game unfold (or unravel if you prefer) because the chances of us entering that part of the field are remote at best. Channel nine or Lifestyle or whoever could be a major sponsor and it'd allow the all the wives to get involved with the time slot as well. They'd actually look forward to the "game"

Move to Perth…..Give it a rest. :brick:

The best thing for Tigs and the game would be to move to Perth and get out of the rat race of competing with 8 other Sydney clubs for players, sponsors and supporters.

Given that there are so many teams in Sydney, Sydney fans can still see them play live every second or third week anyway. With all the empty seats in stadiums these days, WT's could buy tix for specific areas in Stadiums for away games in Sydney (especially Hombush or SFS) and package it up with gear etc and sell away membership packages.

I don't think the Wests board have the courage or business acumen to do it though unfortunately.

Your idea of the club buying away tix is great. I think more fans would go to away games if they know they will be sitting around other tiger fans. Great idea

Really, Rugby would have been able to fund PNG into the Super competition? They aren't even doing that in the Eastern Pacific Islands and those countries are already mad for the game.

Which Pacific Nations? Ive been to both Tonga and Samoa in the last 3 years and the NRL dominates local interest.
Rugby has a following in the outer islands in Tonga and the Samoan 7s team has a following in Samoa but the NRL kills Union these days in the Pacific. I was in Samoa again last week and all i saw were League jerseys. Very few Union jerseys.
Also, PNG has close to 7.5 million people.
Samoa and Tonga combined is closer to 300k

Was in Rarotinga three years ago. An empty house had Sea Eagles spray painted on a wall. It doesnt matter where they live, they have no class.

Better crowd attendences than any other Sydney team last year, and one of the best on membership numbers. The fact that the Tigers never win anything is irrelevant from a commercial perspective, their games rate and they put bums on seats.

Cronulla can't do better than 5000 members and they just won a premiership. They're a successful side no one actually watches, the perfect product to send West.

The rorters are another - no crowds, no juniors big following on TV - perfect fit.

Central Coast Tigers already Stadium and fast growing half mill pop with a lot of Tigers fans and commute time M2 and tunnel and M1 in an hour
Maybe a NRL powerhouse and maybe Nrl support
Hope Bears don't snare it .

But why is it ridiculous?

West Tigers are struggling to compete with surrounding Sydney clubs.

If they moved to South Australia they’d instantly have a city of 1.3 million and a state of 2 million people, which is huge room for growth compared to the rest of the areas allocated to Sydney clubs.

Absolute garbage

We are not going anywhere

Yes we are a basket case

But the only way is up right?

Looks like we are finally heading in that direction
