Team relocate

But why is it ridiculous?

West Tigers are struggling to compete with surrounding Sydney clubs.

If they moved to South Australia they’d instantly have a city of 1.3 million and a state of 2 million people, which is huge room for growth compared to the rest of the areas allocated to Sydney clubs.
Don't want to sound rude but that's not even worth a response

We are finally heading in the right direction

We can compete we just need to to be smarter and I think we are finally getting there

Move to Adelaide and we would sink much lower than we are now

The ppl down there aren't even interested in league

Another option would be to send them to Melbourne as the 2nd team. The population and economy of Melbourne justifies it.

I disagree. Adelaide folk are sports mad and will go to any game, be it Aussie Rules, Soccer or League.

If Tigers moved to SA they wouldn’t sink. They would literally have a whole state to themselves. That would make them one of the most popular clubs in the league.

Shame that tigers fans like yourself have parochial attitudes and can’t see the opportunity of having a whole capital city to yourself over suburbs in a diluted market.

Your wasting your time mate

And no one plays rugby league

Don't know about nowadays, but I went over as part of a Balmain juniors U12's side tour back in the seventies to play the local state squad and watched a few of the local teams play in various age groups whilst billeted there.

Obviously only a kid, but there was a decent league community even back then.

As far as relocation goes, I still maintain that the Tigers should have gone up to the Central Coast way back when

💯

Central Coast Tigers already Stadium and fast growing half mill pop with a lot of Tigers fans and commute time M2 and tunnel and M1 in an hour
Maybe a NRL powerhouse and maybe Nrl support
Hope Bears don't snare it .
What total horseshit - the latte crowd from Leichhardt already complaining on here about having to travel to Campbelltown so you throw up somewhere even further away.

Better crowd attendences than any other Sydney team last year, and one of the best on membership numbers. The fact that the Tigers never win anything is irrelevant from a commercial perspective, their games rate and they put bums on seats.

Cronulla can't do better than 5000 members and they just won a premiership. They're a successful side no one actually watches, the perfect product to send West.
Second last for home crowds this year. It's getting a certain smell about it.

Lol don't move the tigers to Adelaide, most people here don't even know that there's two types of rugby.
It's a pretty poorly kept secret that Perth or maybe PNG (less likely) would be the main options for expansion.
And if i were a betting man id say the big wigs of the NRL would rather swell the league to 18 teams then wait see which Sydney team goes belly up rather than try and force a team to relocate.
I think the sharks, despite recent successes, will struggle to stay relevant in a more crowded league. Just my two cents

If they moved to Lagos they would have a city of 16 million to themselves, very fast growing, huge room for growth.
