Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

You on the weed today mon?

Jurbo is a current SOO rep - good for nothing? Turbo may not play all games but what he does bring is competitiveness and is a genuine game changer. The younger one can shakehands with whoever is in charge of reggies.
Agree with this. he brings that competitive edge, and is a leader.
Youngest Turbo, apart from having one decent game against us where he fell over the line from half a yard twice and made shocking defensive reads he can stay away.

Bronco's came 8th pushing us to 9th in his first season, got beat 58-0 by the Slimeys week one, got the spoon season 2

Correct - I knew that....
Went OK in his first season at Souths as well yeah?
Took them from 10th or 12th the year before to a prelim yeah?

Had more better years than poor ones no?

Not sure either way but I remember for a so called great tactician, he played the the wrong tactics against the Roosters in the latter stages of his Souths tenure,.then when he played the Roosters agin in the finals he did exactly the same tactics. I remember thinking surely he wont continue doing this game plan that clearly didn't work last time.

Might have had a reason to stick with them?
They were probably the same tactics that got him 1 win off a GF appearance, And won him coach of the year...

To be fair, as much as fans like to label Twal as a 'plodder' you could see the difference in the defensive effort in the middle after Twal was injured. He's not you're athletic powerful front rower we all love to see progress over the advantage line. He won't be the direct reason you score a try in a game, but he will be the guy who prevents 12 being scored...

Every team needs a mix of both. The problem isn't twal.
I also noticed Twal seems to be one of our only props who starts from the back fence with his hit-ups. He might not make massive post-contact metres but he certainly holds his own. Would be ideal if he could develop an offload.

Wow so what's Des Hasler worth??? He's had some massive payouts, Des has had more payouts than I've had on those stupid poker machines, that's why I won't play them lol

I dont think so,

Just an excuse

Factions in Manly didnt like Des having so much power.
That may be so but interesting their decline occurred straight after the jersey saga.
I actually thought when Fulton passed things might settle down for Des but it seems that Bozos kids picked up the cudgels.
Fascinating that the owner, who lives in NY, seemed very keen on using this opportunity to get rid of Des and get Seibold in?
Obviously the payout not an issue ( Same as Madge) so let’s see what evolves in 23.

I will have to watch WT games more closely coz I really can’t remember Twal coming of the back fence.
Wholehearted, good tackler but just a steady hit up guy. No flair at all.
Maybe we shouldn’t confuse effort with output.

Twal averaged nearly 110m per game with ball in hand, only 10m less than Offa. Sure he's not P.Haas, but couple that with the fact that he makes nearly 40 tackles per game and misses less than 1, it's ridiculous that people are questioning the talent this bloke has.
Name one other bloke playing today that can do what Twal does week to week.
