Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

ANGUS CRICHTON

Word is Crichton has a handshake deal with the Roosters and the club are just freeing up the cap space to officially register his two-year extension with the NRL.

The former Australian Schoolboys rugby star has previously admitted his desire to play for the Wallabies at the 2023 World Cup. But that dream looks dead and buried with Crichton currently on his first Kangaroos tour at the Rugby League World Cup in England.

The 26-year-old told foxsports.com.au in March that he was “really close to signing” but no announcement came, which saw the Wests Tigers show interest.

However, Crichton declared late in the season that he’ll be staying put in Bondi, emphasising he was “not at all” tempted to leave the Roosters.

The bustling backrower has played 142 NRL games after debuting at Souths in 2016 and joining the Roosters, while also representing NSW 11 times.
Dam was sure he was dying to come to Tigers.

Some people just don't get it. A good forward pack is obviously needed, But there is no way Bellyache, Robbo,,Bennett or any other top coach would have a slow half in their side. Speed is a must in this modern game, where many of todays forwards are as fast as the backs. Look at the top 8 sides , from 1 to 7 they are all quick !

You do realise he was playing on an injured foot for nearly the entire year before he got badly injured?
Sheens doesn’t view Hastings as a 13 because he sees Brooks as a 7.
The reason is that Brooks is useless at organising anything and Jackson can do that for him when he’s out there.
Hastings got shut down at 7. Defences find him easy to contain, sore foot or not. He can perform a role at 13 while Matamua gets more experience.

Sheenius loves fast halfs I remember him talking up old Timmy and Benji being the fastest combo in the comp no way Hastings will be first choice 7 he will manufacturer a 7 who is the fastest forward at the Tiger's ?

Interested to see how Staines goes focusing on fullback. I think he’s a much better fullback than winger and he’s only ever filled in at Penrith.

It’s also another sign Brooks is gone if the plan is to play Laurie at 6.

I think Hastings is the best 7 and Doueihi is the best 6 if he can fix his defence. I guess AD and Laurie fight it out for the 6.
