Matamua is the ball playing lock we have been searching for in our NRL side. By 2024, he will be ready to take over at 13.

No guarantees he won’t be ready in 24. Just because he’s apart of our 30 in 24 won’t guarantee he is playing at Lock. Besides Hastings just bought a house in the Shire, don’t think he would be considering a move to Newcastle if he just bought a house in Sydney.

well you get the log service discount you can apply to the salary so if it is 900k then basically it is 700k on the cap

We can use that on Nofa and send Brooks to Newcastle, problem solved

I'm not stating we are going to get the spoon but there isn't enough evidence to say this approach will work.

If Sheens can negotiate a lesser deal to stay 2024 then good outcome

Why would we want to pay anything at all to a halfback who has failed for 9 years.
Wouldn't we want a half that would be able to lead a team to more than one win a season.

He deserves all the kudos if he gets it done. It does sound a bit too good to be true though.
