Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

If we don't sign another decent second rower he's probably on pole for the other second row jersey.
Bit out of left field ....is Tuilagi still a happy camper now that Unca Dessie is gone ...is it worth the chat .....teams will focus more on Papa in attack and Tuilagi gets some more space ....

Nannai or David fafita would both be better buys than a 31 year old injured Frizell
Do not buy scraps anymore

Agree, don't think anyone would disagree with that.

Few things to consider as part of the equation though:
It will take alot to get those players to shift from QLD.
It depends on how we structure the teams cap
And how confident we are in the kids coming through.

Nanai and Fafita will be $800k players or close to it.
Frizell would be closer to the $500-650k mark.
Papa was reported to be on around 600k with us per season

Frizell would be a 2-3yr contract player for seasons 23-25, the others would be 3-5yr+ so 24-26/28

With cap & roster management tied into pathways, would we really get 200-300k more benefit over the next 2-3yrs from Nanai/Fafita over Frizell or would we be better off putting that cash into other positions.

Brooks for Klemmer is a no brainer, I’m just terrified that Sheens version 2 is just too scrambled to see it, all zimmer frames and senility, prattling on about Brookes the way my
old man does about Bradman…..

They're 3 pretty useful forwards, all better than average who will make a significant difference.
We get a quality prop and another quality back rower and a quality 13....... a quality centre and then a quality 7.....a quality 6 ....a quality 1 and a quality 5 ..and we are a chance to push for a Top 8 spot shouldn't be that hard ...surprised no one has thought of this before really

Don't disagree...
My point is he hasn't done anything to justify it.

Being the 'last man standing' for the spot - Really doesn't excite me.

Not really no, although he has one thing in his favour and that is that he can defend.

He doesn't lift next year I'd be looking past him for '24, I know this years injury was piss poor timing and that but it was a wasted spot and we have to stop waiting on players to reach their potential.

Everyone who studies league will tell you ,-strong forwards, and a good spine are essential to a side. Yes, we are building the forwards ( slowly ), the spine we have Api, and maybe Stains can be the answer, but at least a big improvement at FB. The halves if the most maligned Brooks goes, leaves AD and Hastings, the two slowest pairings in the games history. Sheens is no fool, and i have no doubt he will be shopping for a 6 and 7, no matter if Brooks stays or goes. If anyone thinks you will get to the top 8, without decent halves, look at the top sides, they would not consider either player worthy of a spot in the halves. Anyone that thinks this pairing will get us anywhere is dreaming.

I'm not sold on Blore to be honest bit of a myth hope I am wrong and he comes good

Laurie wasn't established...
Isn't established now.

We'd be no worse off... Farnworth is class.

I agree Farnworth is class at centre, under no way would i dangle a guaranteed FB slot on FB money to a guy who isnt established. Which is why i listed Mbye, Doueihi and Laurie. Mbye was told the gig was his so was AD, both were shuffled around one out and now talk of Laurie to 5/8 potentially.
Again unless someone is a proven FB i wouldnt offer them the gig i'd let them fight it out or else we will be making "potentially" the same mistakes over and over again.
Personally do i think Farnworth could be a gun fullback probably but its an unknown quantity in the NRL.
