This has come from Brooks fanboys.
The same fanboys who say if he’s not happy here get rid of him… all the while forgetting Brooks has asked for a release more than once.

And there is absolutely no proof of that - in fact, sheens was quoted not more than a couple days back he’s heard nothing from Newcastle

If I remember, when Brooks and Hastings were together they played very well, shouldn't Doueihi be in the centres were we need some strength, or are we just catering for people that want to play in their preferred position and not whats best for the club. I am a Hastings fan, he wants to win and a talker with good skills and control. Loosing him would be a mistake

Our attack looked best when Hastings was 13 (Cowboys game) but apparently he doesn't like the tough stuff similar to what Murray does without complaints.

No. In an interview. He clearly stated "I'm the 6".

I haven't heard it directly out of Hastings mouth but I'm pretty confident he wants to play 7 rather than 13 and I don't blame him. I'm not sure if his body will hold up over the course of a season at lock.

Just so you don't think I'm a Brooks fanboy my personal opinion is that it's better if Brooks leaves and we try Hastings at 7 and AD at 6.

I didn't state anything about him jumping ship. He just wants to play 6.

In all seriousness I'm hopeful the Brooks discussions just go away because he goes to Newcastle.

Our spine was atrocious last year. Brooks is quick and has the best all round kicking game out of all our options in the spine but we came dead last. Something needs to give.

if the Newcastle deal was a sure thing wouldn't it already be announced ?

I have to say that there is a heap of speculating and panic from some .....
Everyone can have their favourite player playing in their favourite position....
Hastings has been given an opportunity to play back in the NRL by the WTs,he may well be dissapointed that Madge was sacked or he may have also been spotted by Sheens when he was in England and was promised something that hasnt came to fruition,I have no idea as Im not privy to any info whatsoever from inside the club...
Having said that,in my opinion as a member,supporter and fan of this club,the team played very well when Hastings played in the 7,he lead and organised the team around the park,something that has been missing for awhile..
for all the great players on this forum,I can say that speed doesnt always win you the game but footy smarts does...Hastings has smarts that we desperately need,but if he choses to leave,then thats up to him...and Im a fan of his....

At 13 - 1/3 (Which really was 2/3 - Against top 4 sides no?)

Could argue he's better (for the team) at 13.
