Jackson Hastings #251

This shite about Hastings & Doueihi
not wanting to play certain positions
is an absolute beat up. Stop giving it life.
Brooks' situation has exacerbated
every conspiracy theory possible.
All 3 are contracted for next year
as it stands, fit in where U get in
It really is garbage but it highlites something to me.

Ask fans of the successful teams who their 1, 6, 7 & 9 are.... You will get 4 answers the same for each position.
Ask us about our 1 6 7 9.... We don't know wtf or who tf is playing where and neither did the coaching staff last year... No wonder we got the spoon

Well said brother.
I think even we supporters add fuel to the fire that's smouldering, nothing but fumes.
It's getting boring tbh.

That was probably our best game against a good side, Also thought the first game against Parra was pretty good footy...

Yeah, first win of the season with a field goal at the death, and a similar story against the Bunnies the following week wasn't it?

Can understand the want of a messiah coming to the rescue as many expressed, none more so than the youtube podcast guys with Hastings, as all of us had some hope, but even they became somewhat more realistic as the season progressed.

Even if some, including Pascoe, think that Jackson doesn't contribute enough by putting his body on the line there, unless there is a better option or particular reasoning, I want him at 13 and extending beyond 23.

The spine was bog average and looks much the same next year - apart from.the inclusion of Api K. Hope he makes a significant difference to the forwards getting innthe front foot.
To make matters worse injury suspensions forced the spine to change almost on a weekly basis. No continuity in combinations what so ever.

Hundred percent agree ink. Helps
If you know where you're playing.
Chopping and changing doesn't
Help either, no slight on Madge
Given our torrid Injury list this year.
x4 time prem winner T. Sheens
with his mates Furner, Benji & Faf
would have watched this year
closely though. I trust them to make
The key decisions bro. I'm not that
worried about where the peices fall
into place so long as they fall into place

At 7 - 3/11
At 6 - 0/2
At 13 - 1/3 (Which really was 2/3 - Against top 4 sides no?)

Could argue he's better (for the team) at 13.

It's not much to go on is it. The problem is we lost a lot of games.

I can see the advantage of Hastings at 13. He would be the best ball playing lock in the comp playing basically as a 7. Then you can have two running 6's. It gives us a point of difference.

The thing is at this point in time it's just all BS opinions. We have to wait and see the roster we have for next season plus injuries will play there part. We also need to see who performs.

Probably didn't help Douehi wasn't available for the 1st 3 months ...but our spine was 16th/16 ....and before someone says Newcastle I'd take Ponga and Brailey with Happy and Hobbo in the 6 and 7 over our spine ...well maybe not Hobbo ...happy and Ink perhaps lol ..but you get my drift

For sure mate....
From my point - He's 2/3 at Lock (With a 2 point Loss in the 3rd against Penrith)

I can promise you what the argument would be if he were playing lock
(As was bought) with the same stats at 7

Brooks and Hastings went down hill after the parra game and didn't score much points

Our attack looked best when Hastings was 13 (Cowboys game) but apparently he doesn't like the tough stuff similar to what Murray does without complaints.
Only problem with Murray is that he is possibly only a head knock or two away from giving the game away and maybe Jacko doesn't want to go down that road.

I agree that we looked the best when Jackson played at 13 but we need his organisational ability on the field for 80 minutes which is a pretty big ask playing in the middle.

We were a mess this year Happy.
Madge had to fall on his own sword.
Physio team was shithouse too.
I liked Sheens talking about Blore
& Talau being like new signings.
A lot to improve on end of the day

isn't everyone afraid he will punch someone at the awards ceremony ....drops Mic ...leaves room

Smith is a handy 14 ......but I think if we are moving Talau to teh backrow he becomes the ideal 14 ...especially if Hastings is in the 13 jersey

I don't have a problem with Hastings at 13 ...but we better bulk up the rest of our pack ...and improve our back 5 as well .....we struggle for metres as it is and i guess you take Twal and Jo O and put them on the bench ....two of our bigger metre eaters in the forwards .....you just screw with our go forward and we don't have a big long kicking game ...you just invite teams to camp in our half all game ...an then you throw in Tim's timidness in regards to us being a defensive powerhouse .....2023 could be an even bigger mess than 2022

You know things are bad when people use the argument that Hastings was halfback for 3 of our 4 wins as justification for keeping a player & how crucial said player is to the team and our future despite coming clear last and finishing biggest margin outside the top 8 for over a decade.

If we are benchmarking a player on getting us 3 wins out of 4 wins for a full season they are replaceable.

Don't disagree....
The fact we've released about 4-5 Players out of our pack (That was already considered short) and signed 1 makes me think there 'has' to be movement there....
