Volpato got asked by Arnold to play and rejected the offer.

Wants to play for Italy.

Pretty sure the story is that he's not happy with how he got treated by Football Australia (Sydney FC and Western Sydney Wanderers FC) when they let him go from their youth systems.

In terms of finalists and winners... I agree; super open field.

Brazil's the favourites, and they have a very strong squad, but honestly, any of the top eight or nine countries have a shot.

Holding out on tipping a winner until I see all the squads.

Yea it was an interesting decision given Italys recent run and the fact that he would not be a shoe in to make the Italy squad in the next few years. Says he is focusing on building his career before worrying about international selection. I just hope he doesn't come back grovelling to Australia if he misses out with Italy.

Gianluca Scamacci is getting a fair few goals for WHU and I think he'd he 3rd on the shelf .....if he gets picked for Italy he won't see game time

Two wins in 5 campaigns .......be a battle to get out of the Group stages .....Denmark is the huge game ......France are notoriously slow starters ...but we can't lose by any more than 1 ....Tunisia is 50/50 ......both teams would back themselves to win .......we simply can't lose to Denmark

Worries me .....where are the goals coming from ??

Can’t wait for this one. Should be an absolute cracker & definitely a few teams can win it. I have Italian heritage so very disappointed they didn’t make it (again) especially after winning Europe. Stoked that Australia qualified though, especially beating Peru on the way (where my Mrs was born!). I think we need a point v France to have a chance to progress, & it’s possible given who they have out. We just need to go for it as we really have nothing to lose.

Surely England have a good chance to finally win another?
