Hastings has scored himself a hefty pay rise with the Knights.
Once it was clear that Brooks wasn’t going to be released for 2023 Knights changed focus.
Sheens met with Hastings management & made the point very clear that his future was at 13.
It moved fast from there.
The hope is to build a forward pack that Brooks can actually play off.
Bateman deal will be finalised in the week but he will be here.
Very early talk for Brooks but the club would hope to present a restructured deal for 2 year extension but a reduced rate.

Very important meeting with Moses management next week where a formal offer is expected to be presented.

Matamua expected to be elevated to top 30.

Hard to know what's really going on with anyone but didn't Brooks or his agent say a while back that he was likely to go elsewhere when his WT deal is up at the end of next year. That said, now looks like we are looking to swap Hastings for Klemmer with the Knights. And what happened to the story about Woods returning to play a final year with us?

Just a thought, but maybe Hastings recovery from a fairly serious injury might not be so easy and he wasn’t the most agile or speedy guy to start with. Perhaps Sheens has a crystal ball!

Actually, I'll be the first in the line to admit I was wrong.

I'm not a brooks fanboy - i'm one of the few who think Brooks, Douehi and Hastings are all shit. The sooner the club rids itself of all 3 the better.

It is now, was never intended to be, but Hastings wants to be a half & saw no future here for that.

I believe he’ll be used as 2nd row, other signings may determine that.
